Great Hotel

Very clean hotel. Yumi at the front desk is an excellent employee who makes you feel welcome. The location is near the finer shops and centrally located so you can go anywhere in New York easily. This hotel is a little pricey but worth it.

Not the best/not the worst

Based on my experience with four star hotels this was subpar. Old elevators which were crowded and slow, cracked or sloppy paint near the vents and in the hallway and just generally not a great value for the money. That being said, it was clean, had valet parking and the staff was professional and responsive.

comfortable hotel midtown

The Omni Berkshire is in a great midtown Manhattan location, the rooms are a comfortable size and the king size bed is extremely comfortable with good quality linens. The bathroom is great for a Manhattan hotel in this price range - clean, roomy, with modern plumbing in good condition. We stayed here a few years ago, right after a renovation, and the room then seemed luxurious. This time though very clean the room had a worn appearance which was disappointing. Also, since Madison & 52nd can be noisy, I suggest requesting a room on a high floor.

LOVED THE HOTEL

Location was a major plus. Easy simple and friendly staff. The doormen were helpful at getting a taxi quickly when needed. Very clean and cheerful. Restaurant food little on the $$$$ side but what hotel restaurant isn't??? I'm in New York bi-weekly for business and always looking for confornt and price. You would like the Omni Berkshire

Location terrible

Our suite was right by the elevator, heard it all night long. Also, right near a storage room, in-and-out- all night. Nice hotel but room location was horrible.

Great value for the money! Fabulous location.

This hotel is in a great location. It's between 5th Avenue and Madison in Midtown. It's easy to walk almost anywhere. There's a drug store around the corner for any essentials one might need and a deli across the street which is convenient for breakfast. The rooms are a good size by NY standards and always very clean. The hotel staff is very professional and always very helpful. I have stayed here twice now and will stay here again on my next trip to NYC.

Great Stay

Omni Berkshire in Manhattan very nice rooms and great location. The staff was very helpful. The only caution to the front desk staff is during check-in...is to not rush your guests during check-in. Most of us are aware of the fast-pace of NYC...however, I felt just a little rushed during check-in which resulted in us not getting the "premier" room, at first. However, the staff helped us get the correct room, but it could have been aleviated with a TLC. Otherwise, this is definitely a winner.

A Comfortable Stay in a Great Location

We booked this room about a week before visiting New York City. We were searching for something in Midtown, on the “reasonably” priced end of the spectrum. Plenty of hotels were going for a lot more – as we expected for a room in Manhattan. After mapping our options, reading reviews, and perusing visitor pics online we chose the Omni Berkshire Place. When we checked in we were assigned a single king (I had requested a double). The desk clerk politely updated the reservation and put us in the “only double we have left.” It just happened to be on the (4th) lowest floor (I had requested the highest floor available). Our hands tied, we elected to check out the room. It was nice, but overlooked the dirty rooftop of a neighboring building and the landscape was entirely obstructed in every direction. Not exactly what I had in mind when I called to book the room. As we were grumbling about our view, and rationalizing that we wouldn’t be spending a ton of time there anyway, the room phone rang. It was the desk clerk. She found another double room several floors up on the street side of the building and asked if we would like to switch. We appreciated her proactive effort and elected to move. The view was much improved and we thanked the desk staff for their help. The room itself was very clean, well appointed, and comfortable. We had read reviews from people complaining about the room sizes – but that’s New York…space is at a premium. We didn’t find our room too small. It was about what we expected for a room in the city. The bathroom was clean and the shower nice. Bedding was clean and very comfortable. For the money and brand name, we would have expected a little more in a few areas. The hallways looked like they needed a good sweep. The old box television in the armoir could probably be replaced by a flat panel, as in so many other hotels. And a coffee maker would have been nice (instead of the option to buy a $7 coffee downstairs). One pet peeve of ours is when the
