    If you are looking for a secluded resort with beautiful scenery this place was very nice. There were 2 problems: 1) The service was absolutely terrible - like room service that just never came 2 nights in a row and front desk people that weren't very helpful or pleasant. 2) The place is all inclusive (and you need it because there is nothing within miles of the hotel) and the food was not very good at all.

    The Occidental Grand Papagayo All Inclusive is a beautiful hotel if you want to sit by the pool/beach both of which are beautiful or drink unlimited fruity (or alcoholic drinks) which were also very, very good. But we got a little board since the property is very secluded. The trips from the hotel are a bit pricey so we took a tour offered but one of the guys on the beach (Unforgettable Tours) and it was amazing. Our guide was Diego. Our only true disappointments with the hotel were with the bathtubs and the food. The food was rather institutional(which is understandable) and there was NO Costa Rican food which we loved on the first half of our trip...we can have Italian at home...

Location. Occidental Grand Papagayo All Inclusive is a stylish hotel located along the sun-swept beach of Playa Buena that wends along the Gulf of Papagayo. This hotel rests amid Liberia, Costa Rica's remarkable natural beauty, near Daniel Oduber International Airport and 30 kilometers from Liberia's city center.

Hotel Features. Three on-site restaurants accommodate diners' requests, including Le Buffet that serves international buffet-style cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For dinner, D'Oriental serves traditional Japanese dishes and The Italian serves Italian cuisine. The Grand Concierge Deluxe Room features concierge service, Internet service, a fruit basket on arrival, a bottle of wine and a bathrobe for leisure comfort. The Grand Romance Deluxe Room includes a bottle of champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries, first date-of-stay breakfast served in bed, a romantic dinner, a half-hour, in-room massage per couple and bathrobes.
