Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 5Great Hotel, however, speak ENGLISH for excellent service
Executive Suite (11th floor): vey spacious (700 sqft) and comfortable. All amenities provided. Free WiFi connection, perfect for business. View was excellent. There were 2 dead roaches in the room, yuck. Staff: Check-In was a breeze and was on the 10th floor, for exec suite reservations. Friendly and efficient staff. I speak several different languages, and found that the food service staff responded with the best service when I was speaking English. My French got an even response, however, when I spoke Vietnamese, the restaurant staff gave me the cold shoulders. Example: There were two British guests at breakfast (on the 10th floor), one of the staff member almost tripped over herself asking them if they would want coffee or juice. She hurried her way and the guests had cups of coffee and juices on their tables before they got their food. I spoke in Vietnamese and asked if they could whip together an iced-latte for me. Not only did she not do it, she totally ignored me. Same thing happened on the ground floor pastry/cafe shop in the main lobby. So, my perfect English got me perfect service. My perfect French got me curious stares. My Cantonese received okay service. My perfect Vietnamese got me perfect neglect.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 5An Amazing Value With Top Notch Service & Extraordinary Extras
I would urge everyone who plans to stay in Ho Chi Minh City to opt for a room on the Executive Floors at the New World Hotel. The rooms are immaculate, the staff is very accomodating and the benefits of excellent no charge internet access and the outstanding breakfast buffet plus the 5:30-7:30PM cocktail hour make the room a tremendous value. The cocktail hour with its unlimted provisions for very nice Chilean Wines and top shelf liquors plus wide array of very substatial snacks including shrimp, scallops, roast beef, pates, cheeses and condiments easily make an evening meal without every having to leave the executive lounge. The lounge which features fresh coffee and other beverages througout the day (the room is bright and cheerful with large windows on three sides) has as an admirable view of the city from the 10th floor and an outdoor dining area as well. In addition it has excellent wireless internet service which enables you to leave your room, have a cup of coffee and carry on business activities from your laptop computer. It was an excellent experience.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 5Avoid the 'new world hotel' in saigon
You know it's a bad hotel when the check-in time takes 40 minutes and the manager starts selling upgrades to get you to the room you had already pre-paid for. They never resolved why I was overpaying for a room during my 3 day stay. I ended up cancelling the second part of my stay. Check-out was procedures were even worse. Took 1 hour. Included a ton of paperwork and the clerc was busy managing the phone and helping outer clerks and customers.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 5Expensive Drinks, Little Local Character
Very modern and clean with nice pool, but not much character. It felt like I was in the States as opposed to Saigon. The drinks in the lounge and mini-bar were some of the most expensive in town. I ended up buying beers for 1/5th the price from the street vendor outside and taking them up to my room.
