    Recently renovated rooms, while a little small are more than adequate for two people and are very well done and the attention to detail is outstanding. The remodeled bathrooms even have heated floors. Note that the hotel does provide parking but it is on the local streets through the use of a parking permit. During off-season I had no problem parking. Great restaurant and bars.

    Hotel has been beautifully retored, rooms are superbly decorated with high-end linens, fixtures and furniture. Hotel also has two bar areas - once inside the main lobby and one right next door as wells as a chop house restaurant with outside and inside seating. Only problem was with the Room with a View. On a summer night after the bars let out and the streets filled with people who tend to be loud and smokers. Since the hotel doesn't have A/C in the room, we left the window open and were awoken to a smokey room and loud people outside. We shut the window, but we could still hear everyone in the streets. I would stay here again, but will request a non-view room, something a little more quieter.

Location. The New Sheridan Hotel is located three blocks from Station Telluride and Oak Street Plaza in Telluride, Colo. Elks Park is across the street from the hotel. Bridal Veil Falls is one-and-one-half miles away.

Hotel Features. Built in 1891 and restored in December 2008, the New Sheridan Hotel has been welcoming guests to Telluride for more than 100 years. The New Sheridan is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The Parlor Café, located in the lobby, serves breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The New Sheridan Chophouse serves steaks and seafood, and is open for dinners and Sunday brunch. The Historic New Sheridan Bar features mahogany wall paneling, light fixtures and period-style décor and furniture. Two spa tubs are located on the rooftop and offer mountain and city views. The hotel offers complimentary ski storage and boot warmers during winter months.

Guestrooms. Guestrooms at the New Sheridan Hotel are individually decorated with period-style furniture and historic photos of Telluride's days as a mining town. All rooms feature high-speed wired and wireless Internet access for a fee. Flat-screen televisions are complemented by iPod docking stations. Beds include 400-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. Bathrooms feature heated tiled floors and bathrobes. In-room spa services are offered. In-room safes are provided. Rooms include coffeemakers.

Expert Tip. Try the wine. The New Sheridan Chophouse has added a new nitrogen wine bar system. It allows guests to enjoy more top-shelf selections by the glass. The nitrogen wine bar system also keeps open bottles fresher, longer.
