Westgate has set the standard for customer service and making you feel like you belong there. The pricing, the staff, the entire trip was a complete success for my family and I. We will definitely consider Westgate our number 1 option on our next trip. We have even considered becoming owners there.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 21 of 56Better Than Expected
We were only here for a quick weekend trip and it was great! Location was perfect. Toward the north end of the strip so not as crowded but still plenty to do within walking distance. Our room looked right on the beach and we enjoyed it being on the second floor so could easily take the stairs and avoid the elevator. Parking was about a block away which was annoying but not that bad. Only complaint was that housekeeping waited until 3:00 to clean our room and then only vacuumed and made the bed. Sheets weren't changed, toilet paper and kleenex were left empty. Guess it was the end of her shift so she couldn't bother to actually clean. Call to front desk resolved the toilet paper and kleenex problem promptly though. Was not a big deal other than frustrated that the housekeeper took the tip we left and didn't do much cleaning.

Trip Type: Family Review 23 of 56Very Nice Hotel/Condo
The part of the hotel that we stayed in (tower two) had just opened 3 days earlier. Our condo was very nice. However, the televsion did not work; we called for service 4xs being told that someone would get back to us. We didn't get service until the next day. The dining table was broken- a serviceman did come to the room and spent more than an hour drilling holes in the table while we were in our rooms waiting from him to leave. The hotel could have easily provided us with another table and could have made repairs elsewhere. Also, in order to get to Tower two, one must walk through the back entrance of a parking lot and where it seems the maintenance crew takes their break. There was no real pool area, just a wading area; and we had to walk through the other guests patio area to get to other destinations of the hotel. Other than that, it was fine.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 24 of 56Great room for the money
When we arrived, there was mistake with our room. Our rooms were not ocean side, as we had requested and paid for. We called hotels.com and the problem was corrected. Every employee that we encountered at this hotel was nice, helpful and polite. We enjoyed!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 25 of 56Great Hotel
Went to Myrtle Beach for a "girls" weekend. We didn't know what to expect as none of us had stayed at a Westgate before. The check in was a little strange, but the staff was very friendly and made the small wait enjoyable. The room had a great view, and we were upgraded to a room with 4 beds which gave us each our own bed! The hotel was within walking distance of attractions, and a short drive to shopping and shows.

Trip Type: Romance Review 26 of 56Check your sheets!
Everything about the Hotel was nice except for the sheets on the be. It looked as if a man had just been in there before we arrived. Needless to say the sheets were immediatly removed from the bed.

Trip Type: Family Review 28 of 56"Outstanding surprise"
Upon arriving to Westgate, we seen this really great looking, new resort right next to it. I said to my wife, "We should try to stay there next time". We went into Westgate and checked in. The concierge led us and our bags back out the doors and took us through the parking lot and said, "You'll be staying in the other building", the one we said we should stay in next time! Apparently they just finished building this new building. It was only 3 days old, and it was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. All the staff are exceptionally nice. The rooms were immaculate, and the area is great. I don't know how the rooms are in the main building, but I would assume they are pretty decent. If you decide to stay at Westgate, definitely try to stay in the new building. It is a definite surprise. We wish we would have stayed a couple more days!

I was a bit apprehensive about staying at the westgate after reading some of the reviews. However I must say it was perfectly fine for the costs. I had read reviews about people complaining about the older rooms. I stayed in an older room, but it was fine. After all, you don't go to the beach to hang out in your hotel room. The room was clean, A/C worked fine and I had none of the horror stories I had read. Yes the pool had sand in it, but again...you are at the beach. It was cleaned every morning. I would go to the westgate again and would certainly recommend it to anyone that wants a decent clean room to sleep while you enjoy your stay at the beach.
