    This was a very nice condo-type hotel on the quiet North Shore of Lake Tahoe. We were looking for a relaxing, quiet weekend so this slightly remote location away from the crazyness of South Lake Tahoe was welcome. It was great to have the kitchen as well. Our room did NOT have a fireplace as the website stated (perhaps because we weren't in a studio?) and the view wasn't quite what they show in the photos. The outdoor patio was basically in a light well with no view whatsoever, but it was too cold to hang out there anyways. The cathedral ceilings on the second floor units were gorgeous, and the bed was super comfy. All-in-all slightly less than I was hoping for, but the right location and extremely convinient nonetheless. Staff was very friendly.

location. Located on Lake Tahoe's north shore, the Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort is a beautiful waterfront property, just two miles from Kings Beach and nine miles from Tahoe City. Praised by leisure vacationers, this charming mountain lodge offers 32 studio suites and an impressive cast of property amenities. Of interest to nature enthusiasts, Tahoe Regional Park and Kings Beach are both less than two miles away.

Hotel Features. With a dense pine forest on one side and scenic Lake Tahoe on the other, the Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort features a lovely stretch of beach that is furnished with green umbrellas and lounge furniture. The hotel also offers two outdoor spa tubs and barbecue grills.

Guestroom. The guestrooms are unusually large and boast vaulted ceilings, original artworks, oversized mirrors and fireplaces. California's white sunlight pours in through shapely windows, revealing pine furniture, wood beam architecture and amenities such as DVD players, full kitchens and featherbeds. Designed to give guests the ultimate mountain lodge experience, this property was recently renovated so that every guestroom enjoys at least a 60-degree view of Lake Tahoe.

Expert Tip. At 6,000 feet above sea-level, Lake Tahoe is a magical place to explore, which is why the hotel has amassed a small collection of mountain bikes, sailboats and kayaks that are available for rent.
