Great spot for flight crews

Nice place with lots of stuff a short walk away. Staff was kind enough to extend my stay into the afternoon as I had a late afternoon showtime at the airport.

Renovating?

Hotels.com Did not let me know that hotel was under renovation ! Bad ! Hotel service itself was good. Hotel envirnamemnt is okay, nothing great. Rooms are clean and neat. They have nice Big LCD screens with DVD players

friendly, convenient

The staff was friendly; the location was convenient to downtown, walking distance of Aspen Mall. Beautiful views of Aspen Mtn. Nicely landcaped courtyard and pool. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. I will certainly return for another vacation.

Problems, problems, problems.......

We had to switch rooms twice because the AC in first two rooms was not working. In the third room, we discovered that the lightbulbs in both bedside lamps were partially unscrewed. We tightened them. Then in the middle of the night, one of them turned on by itself. Evidently the switches were loose, and had not been fixed. Finally, on the morning we were leaving, the toilet got plugged up.

Good Stay

The hotel was great except for the minor smell of smoke in the room, that is kind of to be expected since the fireplace. Great atmosphere and great room.

My wife was overwhelmed with the room and the sight from the front of the hotel. And that is hard to do, but the Molly Gibson did!

Good Value

Given the room (king size bed and large bath) and the breakfast/apres ski offerings, this hotel was a very good value. I appreciated the number of breakfast and apres ski items available to all guests. There was bottomless coffee, lots of fruit, juice, and various starches. Apres ski provided veges, cheese, soup, wine, beer, and crackers. Rooms were clean and basic. I really like the shampoo and lotion b/c I could get the stuff out of the bottle (wide mouth). Evening front desk attendant was very friendly and helpful and appeared to actually enjoy his job.

Small but good for the money

My room was very clean, but small. The breakfast was more then I expected. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was the smell of wood burning in the morning from a room with a fireplace. If they rehabbed the bathrooms and put in new carpet it would be nicer, but very tolerable for the money.

Stenth of Fireplace Smoke

My "Fireplace Room" smelled exactly like the inside of a fireplace. Despite not having a fire in the fireplace of my room the room had an overpowering smell and I think that smoke from fireplaces in other rooms may leak into the room I stayed in. While the room was OK from other aspects, by mid-week all of my clothes had absorbed the smokey smell of the room. This probably not only ruined the time that I spent in my room, but the smokey smell that I carried with me on my clothes detracted from my enjoyment of my entire Aspen experience. I reported the problem to the hotel desk and nothing came of it. My room charges for this hotel were very high and I wouldn't spend a penny to stay is such a situation ever again. I will be interested to see what type of remediation Hotels.com will take to compensate me and prevent other people from a similar experience.

Great room for the money

Great location and very friendly
