Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 14do not stay here
this is not a hotel as I was told it was. it's a boarding house which is used for residents and tourists. there isn't a front desk, there isn't an elevator, there isn't soap provided, there isn't air conditioning, there isn't maid service.the shower consists of a hose clipped to the faucet. it's also not clean, stained carpeting throughout. when I arrived I had to call a number to check in and the guy told me to walk a few blocks to the mgmt. office. is this for real ? again, for the money stay at a real hotel.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 14Nice Room, Perfect Location
The location of this room is unbeatable. The Village is my favorite part of Manhattan, and it's right there. The room is small, but comfortable and clean. I found the hotel check in process very easy, compared to what I had read from previous reviews. Would DEFINITELY stay again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 14Cozy Stay in a Perfect Location
Nestled on perfectly quiet and empty Minetta St., the Minetta Mini-Suites provide a perfect, efficienty stay for any weekend. Steps from both sides of Bleecker, home to bakeries, bars, cafes, shops, and more. Rooms are small but contemporary, and the check-in service was cordial. Absolutely recommended.

I didn't like that they didn't have a front desk staff there at all times. They should have at least explained how the check-in procedures work, since there is no one there to assist you. Also the room should have additional instructions on how the phone system works etc.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 14If your game for an hairy check-in process....
Check in is at an unmarked basement about 1/2 block away and disorganized would be an understatement. We had to call multiple phone # to figure out where to go to check in, finally we did get a live person to tell us where to go. The folks working in the basement were friendly but not very efficient and it took about 30min to get our room codes. However, for the price, if you can tolerate the inconvenience of the check in process, it was a winner for our needs. Probably best suited for people familiar with budget European or Hostel type hotel expectations. Fun location and quite clean. Halls & stairs are very narrow so hauling luggage (no elevator) is a bit difficult.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 8 of 14Felt like Europe
some things you should know 1. the building is not clearly marked. look for the yellow building in the crook of the street. 2. there is no front desk. you have to call a number (the list is on the hallway just inside of the front door) and someone comes to give you the codes. it took the guy 10 minutes to get to us. 3. there are 5 floors, with no elevator. we stayed on the 5th floor, but it was okay since we had light luggage and are relatively fit. 4. no free internet - there's a hotspot that you can pay for. on the plus side: -- it's on a very quiet street and located very conveniently near soho and the village. -- the rooms are like mini studio apartments. they have a stovetop, microwave, fridge, glasses, plates and utensils. there were a couple of pots underneath the sink too. -- there were modern conveniences like a flat screen tv (limited channels) and temperature control (although we couldn't really figure out how the remote worked) -- things were pretty clean - we felt comfortable. it was expensive, but the least expensive of the viable options for nyc at this time of year. it was fine for us, and we would stay here again!

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 14First time I've had a problem
I've stayed here before and it's usually very clean and comfortable, but this time I had a Large water bug (eeewww), a couple of channels that didn't have sound, the refrigerator wasn't working and the tiles kept coming off the bathroom floors. I've stayed at this location at least 10 times in the past year, and love the street and neighborhood, but am hesitant to return because of these problems.
