Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 155Small, but clean
After reading some of the reviews, we were fearful of arriving and having to book somewhere else. Luckily, The Milner was clean and easy to get to. The room is small, but we hardly spent any time in it. The bathroom was clean and the view was nice. The trucks outside that passed by woke my up; however, my wife didn't hear a thing. Also, some other people we know stayed at a fancy hotel and could hear street noise 9 floors up (we were on the 5th floor). The Milner is very old and it looks old, but has lots of character. It was very pricy for what it is, but I would recommend it to those who aren't going to spend lots of time in their room. We had a great time in Boston even though New Englanders aren't the friendliest people.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 155Old world charm but at the expense of comfort.
My wife and I stayed one evening at the Milner. It was on our last night in Boston. The hotel has a certain charm and character to it. It feels very old world and you can imagine any number of exciting things having taken place there. However, the charm quickly gives way to the realization that the hotel is in need of some things. While our room was clean and a very nice note was left on our bed encouraging us to enjoy our stay, the room had a musty smell and was extremely small. The hotel is in need of some restoration as the original materials seem to be feeling their age. The desk receptionist(s) was pleasant and eager to answer any questions we had. There is an elevator and if you have to take luggage past the first floor I recommend you make use of it. The elevator is very small and the door is an older style that only opens half the width of the elevator making a tight fit with large luggage. The stairs are much to narrow to practically take any heavy item past the first flight. Again, a charming hotel that could be even better with some restoration.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 155Old Hotel
Hotel is in need of restoration, windows face shaftways, BUT it was clean, comfortable, centrally located, people were very nice, continental breakfast was available. It was pretty expensive but I heard that's to be expected in Boston.

Staff was amazingly friendly and helpful- very chatty and personable. Michael's waffles in the morning were fantastic- very positive experience at the Milner.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 155Location is Perfect
The rooms at the Milner Hotel are a bit small, but they are very clean. The staff was incredibly gracious and extremely helpful. Crystal, at the front desk was a joy and made our stay that much more pleasant. She provided directions and site seeing recommendations even outside of the Boston area. We also enjoyed the complimentary daily breakfast that was served. The location in itself is worth the stay at Milner. It is within walking distance to most everything in the city. It is close to restaurants, shopping, Boston Commons and, Fenway Park. Very minimal need, if at all for a rental car and or need for a cab, except to and from the airport. Milner will definitely be a hotel we will stay again.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 155Old world and cozy, great breakfast
The room was small but adequate for one night. Good location for sightseeing, theater, close to Commons. They could put in a new elevator and spruce up the rooms to brighten them. Also, the windows were small and dirty on the outside. Felt like I was in a 2** old European hotel. Price was right compared with other hotels in area.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 155Enjoyed the Milner
This hotel is very nice. Even for an old building, its just what I expected. It stated that the rooms were on the small side. This is correct, but I enjoyed the person I was with, so being in a small room was just fine. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was helpful and polite. I stayed here for my anninverary and would definately stay her again. Location was good. Within walking distance for many restaurants and stores.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 155Great location, superb breakfast, needs refurbishments to improve space
This is reasonable value for money. Great location, be careful, some rooms are very small. Friendly staff and generous breakfast.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 155It was ok
The hotel was ok but I probably would not recommend it to friends and family. It is very small and very outdated. The floor in our room sloped. There is no counter space in the bathroom to put your items. We only had two people in our room with two double beds and felt very crowded. The hotel location is out of the way to the heart of Boston.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 155Rude unhelpful management refuses to compensate for noisy room
Window had a large hole in the insulation and thus the room, which was right over a busy street, was really noisy at 2:30 in the morning. Ended up moving to a different room which was fine, but the hotel manager refused to give me any sort of compensation or even pay for my parking, which was $42 dollars, and was extremely rude.
