Trip Type: Family Review 16 of 160Old world and cozy, great breakfast
The room was small but adequate for one night. Good location for sightseeing, theater, close to Commons. They could put in a new elevator and spruce up the rooms to brighten them. Also, the windows were small and dirty on the outside. Felt like I was in a 2** old European hotel. Price was right compared with other hotels in area.

Trip Type: Romance Review 17 of 160Enjoyed the Milner
This hotel is very nice. Even for an old building, its just what I expected. It stated that the rooms were on the small side. This is correct, but I enjoyed the person I was with, so being in a small room was just fine. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was helpful and polite. I stayed here for my anninverary and would definately stay her again. Location was good. Within walking distance for many restaurants and stores.

Trip Type: Family Review 18 of 160Great location, superb breakfast, needs refurbishments to improve space
This is reasonable value for money. Great location, be careful, some rooms are very small. Friendly staff and generous breakfast.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 19 of 160It was ok
The hotel was ok but I probably would not recommend it to friends and family. It is very small and very outdated. The floor in our room sloped. There is no counter space in the bathroom to put your items. We only had two people in our room with two double beds and felt very crowded. The hotel location is out of the way to the heart of Boston.

Trip Type: Business Review 20 of 160Rude unhelpful management refuses to compensate for noisy room
Window had a large hole in the insulation and thus the room, which was right over a busy street, was really noisy at 2:30 in the morning. Ended up moving to a different room which was fine, but the hotel manager refused to give me any sort of compensation or even pay for my parking, which was $42 dollars, and was extremely rude.

Trip Type: Family Review 21 of 160Perfect location, quaint Boston experience
My husband and I really enjoyed staying at the Milner hotel. It was in a great location for the areas of Boston that we wanted to see. About 1 mile from Fenway, about 1 mile from the North End, and a block away from Boston Common. The rooms of course are smaller than standard rooms of newer hotels but it was perfect for us. We had the luck of staying in a room with an emergency exit so the bathroom was slightly bigger. The continental breakfast was great too. I do recommend though that you get to breakfast early. Since it is an older hotel, the breakfast area is small with limited seating. If you're driving or renting a car, I recommend parking at the Boston Common parking deck. It was $12 or so and we ended up paying $40 in a closer parking deck. All in all a great hotel and great location!!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 22 of 160Great location, good for the money
Staying in Boston can come with a large price tag. If you are there to venture out, spend an afternoon in the commons or go by the harbour, even Beacon Hill, I would stay at the Milner. The rooms are a bit tight. If you want to stay in a larger room, you will pay double. For the traveler who will only use the room to sleep and shower, or maybe watch good morning america, this hotel will meet your needs. If you like to spend a lot of time in a hotel room or will have a very short stay, I recommend you stay in a different hotel with more amenities. There is no pool or gym here. They do offer a small continental breakfast where you can make your own waffles and such. You will get very acquainted with other guests as the space provided to eat is very NY style.(you sit really close to the next person)

Trip Type: Family Review 23 of 160okay stay.
Hotel staff was very helpful with all direction issues. Hotel location was great. Rooms were very small and beds were slightly firm/springy/uncomfortable. Breakfast was okay-small room to serve in and not enough chairs/tables to sit and eat. If money was an issue, I would probably stay here agian because of the great location, but if I could afford to stay somewhere else, I probably would.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 25 of 160A place to stay
This hotel is very old and like many hotels in New York City for example the rooms are small. For people like myself that are just looking for a place to sleep and wash up it is perfect. We spend very little time in our room in anyways. The idea of going somewhere is to enjoy the place not the hotel. The location is close to the "T" (Subway) Theater District, China Town and the Historic area all on foot or "T". I read the some of the negative reviews and it is obvious the folks were looking for something the Milner is not. Nice people, different kind of place and a great area.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 27 of 160Great Location!!! Loved It!!!
I would totally stay here again. Yes the room is small, but it is clean and close to both the Green and Orange T. You are between the Theater District and China Town. and a block away from The Boston Commons. Absolutely the best location and for the money. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 28 of 160Great Location and Price
We found the room to be small yes but since we had a short stay and just needed a comfortable bed in a clean room with basic needs (coffee maker, hair dryer, quiet) it was perfect. Location was great especially for the price and the room was clean and comfortable. We did not have any problems with noise from other guests even thought our room was right by the elevator. We didn't have breakfast but it looked fine. Would definitely stay again and reception was terrific!

Old hotel, tiny rooms, poor service, no parking. Not happy!
