Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 54Great Room For the Money
Have stayed many times before. This time had a problem with a very bad odor in the rooms on the first floor. The staff moved me to the second floor (to a larger room) and that ended the odor problem. In general, the owners try to get by with as little repairs as possible and thus have very low rates. It's ok for a business overnight but not for week long vacation.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 54Not up to standards
My bed sheet was "stained" and the condition of the toilet seat was disgusting. It looked like it had been melted. I don't know how housekeeping could of thought this was ok. Also the desk chair was disgustingly dirty. Not a pleasant overall experience.

We booked a Queen Suite and at first it seemed acceptable until we noticed a leak in the ceiling dripping on the window seat. David, our night manager immediately apologized and switched our room. Again the room appeared to be ok until we noticed that the pull out sofa was broken and unuseable. He again switched us to the adjoining room and we were very satisfied. If it had not been for David we would have not only switched rooms, but hotels. Microtel needs to renovate the hotel immediately if not sooner. Not sure if we would take the chance of booking here again.

It was small but who needs a large room when all you are going to do is sleep. I imagine there are larger rooms, but for a single bed the room was good enough for me. The only thing the room lacked which would have been nice was a small refrigerator. I liked the smoked glass wall behind the bed. Smile. The price was great for Tallahassee.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 54Game Weekend
We chose this hotel because it was the only one that had availability and was reasonably priced. However, what we paid was way to much for what we got. We received a very small room and the bathroom had a lot of mold on the ceilings and walls. It is in a nice location and prices are normally a lot lower when it isn't a game weekend. This hotel is not on my lists of favorites.

Bar of soap was left in the bathroom from previous occupant, dead bug on bathroom floor, cigarette burn on the sheets. Hotel staff was quite friendly though.

No one should EVER have to sleep(?) with thier head next to the elevator shaft as we did in rm. 115. Also, for a "non smoking room", it smelled like an ashtray.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 10 of 54Worth the money
My only concern was that when we came in at approximately 10 p.m., the front door was open (there is no security card lock on the front door) and there was no one attending the desk. That made me doubt the security of the hotel. Otherwise, for the money paid, I could not have asked for more.

Just what you want out of a fairly cheap hotel. Clean, nice service and even though it was a busy weekend it was still quiet.

The rooms are very small but are cheap and comfortable. The breakfast is dry cereal and toast. If you need or want more there are a couple restaurants within a mile.

Very friendly and helpful front desk staff - girl with the dark hair saved cookies for us when we missed them two nights running... No fruit at breakfast which was sad, but otherwise fine. Room was spacious and clean and the beds were super comfortable. It was quiet even tho the place seemed very busy, and there were trees all around giving us some nice views out the windows. It's easy to find.
