Small hotel in the heart of the city

This hotel is a small but nice hotel tucked away in a back street just feet away from Chinatown. Parking is expensive (valet only) but transportation options in the city are abundant and many things are in walking distance. Hotel staff were great and the room was small but nicely furnished.

Decent room for the money

The location of this hotel is superb. It's right in the heart of Melbourne with all of the main attractions within walking distance. The rooms are clean, although there was this moldy sort of smell in the bathroom. The hallways are pretty bad. They look as if they're service hallways for the cleaning people. The walls are also very badly insulated and you can hear actual conversations in adjacent rooms and hallways. BUT, this is still at a great location and you are getting what you're paying for.

This my second stay at this hotel, the first I was in a standard room and I DO NOT recomend the standard. This time I was in a deluxe room and it was much better. I did not eat or drink at the hotel, too many great places outside the hotel to eat or have a drink

Good location, not much of a hotel

Check in staff could care less. Room needs some fresh paint; walls were dirty or had marks on them. Carpet was worn or not clean. Aircondition did not work and the windows can not be opened. So much Airfreshioner was used by the hotel cleaning staff I woundered what the room must have smelled like before. The location is good if you would like to be down town. I would rather send a little more money for a better room. Check out staff were friendly and helpfull. One way taxi to the airport about $43 AUS.
