    Great location next to the Gare De Lyon train station. Worked out well for taking an early morning train. Close to pick up for Paris tour companies.

    If you're either departing from or arriving at the Gare de Lyon train station in Paris, this is the most convenient hotel you'll find. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, and speak English very well. There's also a great breakfast available. It is one of those chain hotels devoid of personality, style or any sense of grace, but it is a terrific option for a one or two night stay. Do be careful of the elevators -- the doors don't have sensors and close quickly. I was traveling with my aging in-laws and they had a tough time moving fast enough for these elevators.

Location. The Mercure Paris Gare de Lyon is housed in a seven-storey glass building with two turrets and is situated next to the Gare de Lyon. The Louvre is two kilometres from the hotel and the Eiffel Tower is five kilometres away. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is 30 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 40 minutes.

Hotel Features. Bar Millesime offers a wide range of drinks in a contemporary setting, and the hotel provides wireless Internet access in air-conditioned public areas. The 24-hour front desk can assist with currency exchange, and computer rental is available. A dry-cleaning service is offered, and the hotel features a gift and newspaper shop.

Guestrooms. The 315 guestrooms have light decor and modern furnishings including desks. All are equipped with satellite television, direct-dial phones and wireless Internet access (fees apply). Other amenities include climate control, complimentary newspapers, minibars and bathrooms with hair dryers.

Expert Tip. There are sometimes long queues, but it is unthinkable to visit Paris without ascending the stately and iconic Eiffel Tower with its spectacular views across the city.
