    we are glad we arrived to Narita as our first stop in Japan. The hotel staff was very friendly. Small clean rooms but the prize is right

    I stayed at the Hotel Mercure Narita for one night on a long layover. The hotel was inexpensive, clean enough, offered a very reliable airport shuttle (free) and was convenient. The hotel was comfortable enough and perfect for my short stay. There were a number of local restaurants nearby and an AM/PM convenience store for snacks, etc. However, the best part of my stay was my stroll through the neighborhood to the Narita Shinjo Temple, just a short distance from the hotel. This is the second largest temple in Japan and it is beautiful. It is set within a large, beautifully landscaped park. There are a number of traditional Japanese restaurants, artisan shops and souvenir stands to make the walk to and from even more interesting. I wish I had more time to enjoy this. The people in Narita town were also very polite and helpful. I would recommend this for the hotel but encourage all to take time to enjoy the neighborhood as well.

The Mercure Hotel Narita is located right next to a Japan Rail train station, with easy access to Narita Airport, and just an hour from Tokyo. This location facilitates easy day excursions into the city for international travelers transiting at Narita, or just doing business in the area. The Mercure's facilities include a restaurant and a bar, a gymnasium, guest parking and conference rooms. The hotel is also centrally located for the Narita Temple and the ubiquitous golf courses in Chiba.

Almost half of the Mercure's 248 guest rooms are non-smoking. The guest rooms are all fitted with a host of great amenities, including a kitchen, high-speed internet access, a bath tub and hair dryer in the bath room.
