Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 224Thin Walls
The service from the staff, including housekeeping, was excellent. Restaurant, Andaluca, is excellent. We had drinks at Oliver's and ordered pizza. Horrible pizza! Tasted like cheap frozen pizza. Service in the bar was excellent. What will keep us away from this hotel are the thin walls. Our neighbor's TV and conversations could be heard. Unfortunately we had neighbors who burned the midnight oil. We had a couple of sleepless nights. A night later we had a new neighbor who was quiet. However, on our last night, after we had gone to sleep, I awoke with the smell of cigarette smoke. Not sure where it came from.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 224very special hotel
I am not the kind of guy that gives a 5-star rating to anything very often. The Mayflower Park is a very special property and now is the time to take advantage of the economic downturn with their current low rates. I checked in to find a beautiful 6th floor corner suite--huge--with a beautiful view of downtown Seattle. This is a family-owned hotel, not a chain, and that attitude is reflected by the employees, all of whom seemed to enjoy their jobs and were very helpful and friendly at all times. Though I intended to, I never did visit the restaurant Andaluca due to my own busy schedule. The bar was a friendly and warm space with great old windows looking out to the bustling urban street. This hotel is just a short walk from anything in the heart of downtown, and adjoins the Westlake center where you can catch the monorail, buses or light rail for all parts of the city. Just a five minute walk to Pike Place Market, great shopping, dining and bars. This place is an absolute diamond for the price I paid.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 224Wonderful Hotel!
Absolutely beautiful hotel with friendly staff and lovely rooms. The only issue we had was the size of the bed; upgrading those full sized beds to king size would make the rooms perfect! We'll definitely be staying at the Mayflower the next time we're in town!

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 224Great Hotel at a convenient price
Hotel was an old vintage hotel that has been modernized. The day I was leaving they were getting set for a remodel in the lobby. Looks like it will be good. Location is near Pike Street Market and lots of dining and entertainment. Near the light rail for easy transit to/from the airport. I am looking forward to my next stay next week.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 224Wonderful Hotel, Great Location
This is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of Seattle. The location could not have been better. Even though it is an older, historic building, it has been meticulously maintained. The only negative (and it is a small one) is that the two elevators are relatively slow, and sometimes the wait for them can be a little longer than I'd like. But overall, this is a great choice if you're staying downtown.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 224More than I expected
This hotel far exceeded my expectations. We were located in the middle of downtown Seattle and almost everything was in walking distance of short cab ride away. Room is a bit small but very elegant. We had an awesome view of downtown from our room. Staff was more than helpful and so polite. Loved the bar in the lobby too! Check it out. I definetly have nothing bad to say about this place and definetly got more than we paid for.

The only surprise was valet only parking, but it worked out fine.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 224Unreliable internet
As a business traveller, I have two non-negotiable criteria for a hotel: a decent fitness center (defined as at least three fitness machines and at least hand weights) and reliable internet. The hotel is nicely appointed, staff is a little too urban-disinterested for my taste, but the real issue during my stay was the nightmare of internet access. It was nearly impossible to connect to the hotel network and once connected, it only lasted for a few minutes before crashing. The hotel staff referred me to their contract tech support who confirmed the connection between the router and the internet was working. It took four calls to the front desk before I was offered a booster which hastened connection but did nothing for the reliability of the connection. I wasted hours trying to download documents I needed for my meeting and finally gave up and went to Kinkos. No consideration of the problems the hotel created for me appeared on my bill. And the front desk staff couldn't have cared less. I can't imagine what it would take to get me to return.
