Description
See more detailsLocation. Located in Piste, Mexico, Mayaland Hotel and Bungalows stands on 100 acres of tropically gardened landscape. Tours of impressive subterranean natural caves are offered at Dzitnup, positioned 29 kilometers from the resort.
Hotel Features. On-site dining includes The Buffet, an open-air, palapa-covered dining area where Mayan, traditional Mexican and international cuisine is served. A second restaurant, Specialties, is open for all meals and prepares primarily Mayan fare. The Lobby Bar offers views of the Chichen Itza ruins and serves tropical drinks and tequilas. A business center offers fax, photocopy and print services, plus a computer with Internet access. Recreational options include three outdoor pools, a billiards table and a souvenir shop. Each day and evening, local dancers and musicians entertain in the restaurants and lobby bar.
Guestrooms. This hotel features 98 guestrooms and bungalows enhanced with hand-crafted furniture, stained glass accents and shaded terraces. Terra cotta floors, thatched-palapa roofs, shuttered windows and Mexican wall hangings add authentic Mayan-influenced ambience to the bungalows. Accommodations include minibars, refrigerators, coffeemakers and complimentary bottled water.
Expert Tip. This hotel is laced with paths that lead to a private entrance to Chichen Itza, the most expansive of all the ancient Mayan sites. A memorable way to visit the ruins is via horseback tours that depart from behind the hotel.
