Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 2 of 63Needs improvement
The place was not kept up well, and had no amenities such as shampoo or hair dryers. The breaker blew when we turned on the lights and the light was never fixed. We rented 2 rooms. The lights went out in both rooms at one time or other. One room did not have a shower curtain when we got there, but security did bring us one which we installed. The biggest problem was the price. I guess the place can charge what the traffic will bear on a game weekend, but we paid much more for the room than we should have been charged. The price we paid made us think we were getting a nice place. The sheets were clean at least.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 63Needs Improvement
The room had a horrible smell. There were stains on the carpet. Bugs in the bathroom. 1st sign you see (all over the hotel) is "lock your doors" not responsible for stolen items does not make a good first impression. Only 2 towels in the room even though we made reservations for 4 adults. Asked for additional towels, they were out for a long period of time. No coffee in rooms, no microwave, no frig. Coffee in lobby was horrible. Breakfast choice was donut or bagel w/butter or jelly. Positive - pool is pretty and air worked great

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 63Good for the money
Was looking for a relatively cheap hotel for a one night stay during a road trip out east. On the exterior, it was a step down from your average hotel/motel, but the inside of the room was suitable. Unlike most hotels, our room did not stink of old cigarettes. Room included a fridge, which was a pleasant surprise for the price we paid. Probably shouldn't get there too late, as the neighborhood doesn't look all that safe, but you'd probably be ok if you're a couple of people or more. Wouldn't suggest a woman stay there by herself, but, then again, I'm paranoid. Staff was friendly and alert when I arrived there late at night. Overall, I was pleased. Costs a little less than most of the surrounding hotels, but it was also a little less fancy, which was fine by me. I have stayed in much worse places for more money. Recommended if you're just looking for a place to stay for a night before getting back on the road.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 9 of 63you get what you pay for
i stayed here because it was by far the cheapest place in Tuscaloosa. if you need a roof over your head and dont have money to spare, go here. it seemed sanitary, but in a foreign way. the sheets smelled like they had been chemically treated then stored in a shed with lumber for a few years. one of my pillow cases was stained and the ceiling in the bathroom was leaking water. also the cleaning staff tried to come in at 8am, while I was sleeping, then didn't come at all until the next day at which time they took all the towels but left none. it all seems quite humorous now. all this said, you get what you pay for. i didn't pay very much at all

Cheap rate and surprisingly comfortable. Not enough towels and they were very dingy. I don't think you could find a better rate if you want to be close to the campus.

If you're looking for a clean bed to sleep in and a quick continental breakfast in the morning this place works just fine.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 63Exactly What You Would Expect
When reserving this hotel remember that you are getting a 1* hotel at a very low price. If you are expecting luxury then you don't understand the star rating. However, the staff was very helpful and available for a late check in (I arrived after 1 am). The continental breakfast was pretty complete and started at 5 am. The room itself was old, but clean. They cleaned it everyday I was there, giving me fresh towels, cleaning up the room, making the bed, etc. Make sure you bring your own shampoo, the hotel didn't provide any. There was soap, but no shampoo.

If you just need a bed and shower for the night, then this is a good bargain for your money. But that is all you will get! I would recommend you ask for a room next to the office. There were a few young people hanging out in the stairways. I would maybe stay again in a pinch.
