Good Vacation Hotel

Room was good size for our group of 4. Had everything we needed to make our meals, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Towing of guess's vehicle is not acceptable .

my brother's car was towed because I forgot to tell him to get a parking pass. I did checked in and got a key to his room. He did not arrive till 3:00 am and got towed at 5:00 am. what the heck ? the front desk personel should inform guess on that.

Marjac Suites

Excellent location. Great price. Room would be perfect for families. Steps from the ocean. Hallways, elevator and stairwell are dirty and smelled of urine, but room was clean and beds were fairly comfortable.

Great Location

Location was great to all the restaurants. Like the fact that there are two TVs in the room. All the suites have balconies. The rooms itself could use a good makeover. But all in all I would stay again.

Needs Improvement

This hotel is not what is viewed on the internet. The rooms are in need of repair. The maid service was poor. There are huge water bugs crawling around the floor at night. There is no radio in the rooms, no remote control to the TV's, no iron to iron clothing, all locks on the doors were broken. Had to put a chair behind the door at night. The shower knob fell off and did not work. It was so many negitive things, I can't even name them all. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The owners should be ashame.

Not too bad for the money

I figured there must be some reason for the hotel to have such a cheap rate for the area. Even though it was off season we had a very inexpensive stay at Marjac. However, online it looked as though we had private suites that were a walk out your door to the ocean. It's not like that at all. We were on the 6th floor where from the booking I thought all the suites were on the 1st right on the ocean. Our view was of the ocean, but we had to take the elevator to the bottom and walk out across the boardwalk to the beach (as do you for most of the hotels there). The hotel definitely looked nicer online than it did when we got there and the pictures that are shown are nothing like the hotel really is. However, for the money it was comfortable and we have 6 people in our family to travel with, so it was convenient not to get 2 rooms because of so many of us. The pull out couch was horrible and uncomfortable though. Also, the main gripe that I have was that housekeeping would wake us up at 8am (on our vacation!) and ask to clean our room. We turned her down almost everyday and got towels and tp from her to make due. By mid week we wanted our room cleaned so we asked her to come back later and she never came back. We called down and they said housekeeping was gone for the day so we'd get her tomorrow...in which she came at 8am again! It was very frustrating...no restaurant, room service or housekeeping on site...but it was cheap and when we got there, clean.

great location, was an older hotel, but no problems with room. service was great.

Old but Good

Myself and 5 family members stayed 3 nights at this hotel. 5-11 thru 5-14. The staff was very nice and helpful. Remember you get what you ask for and use a bit of courtesy when asking as hotels folks work for just a little above minimum wage. When I decided I wanted to cook and did not have correct pots and pans in room I called front desk and it was delivered asap.The only thing dirty in my room was the patio glass windows but we stayed out on balcony so it didn't matter.

Reasonable Price, Clean Oceanfront

Surprised after reading some other reviews, guess it's all in what you're used to. I have traveled to Virginia Beach for a number of years. It is in transition, and it is difficult to find ANY accomodations that are what I would consider reasonable. If you're looking for 5 star, you'll pay at VA Beach. If you want something Oceanfront that is clean and recently remodeled, this fits the bill.

Worth every penny

Excellent location, right in the middle of the strip so you can park the car and walk to everything. The suite was spacious with more than enough room for just the two of us. The kitchenette was great for saving money on meals. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaints would be no water pressure in the shower and the room door had to be slammed to be secured. I would definitely stay here again.

Great space for the money!!!

For the money, GREAT hotel! There was a little water damage on the ceiling from the balcony above leaking. I wasn't there to look at the ceiling, so what do I care about a little chipped paint on the ceiling (not too much)? I enjoyed our oceanfront suite & spent a good deal of time on our private balcony watching the sea, surf and the people on the boardwalk. Perfect location right in the middle of the shopping and dining. We only stayed 2 nights ... wish we had had more time.
