    Mar Ipanema Hotel is a great place to stay in Ipanema. The location is great close to the beach, restuarants, grocery store, post office, etc. The hotel staff was incredible! They were fantastic in helping me with places to eat, finding the Harley Davidson dealership, buses to Cococanbana, helping me with tours that I booked and where to buy some masking tape to wrap an item I bought that I needed to check in on the plane. No matter what time of day the staff was always gave 100% to help you out if you had a question. I had read on the reviews the staff was very friendly and they are. I was there six nights! If I went back to Rio I would definitely stay at Mar Ipanema Hotel again.

    Don't expect American type accomodations. Rooms were small, but clean. 1 of elevators was out of service during our stay, so there were some long waits for an elevator if you were on the upper floors. The restaurant/bar associated w/ the hotel was very good. Convenient to Ipanema beach, and local shopping.
