Absolutely Great

Great hotel with superior service. Plenty of shops, stores, and restaurants within blocks of the hotel. Makes for nice evening strolls except during the height of the summer months...TOO HOT!!!! Regardless, hotel dining is good enough and room service is great.

Hotel stands up people!!

My wife had a reservation for this hotel. She lands at the Dubai airport and calls the hotel, so that she can get a confirmation fax from them. This being one of the requirements for getting a visa - they need to see a fax from the hotel, which says that you are a guest. She calls them a dozen times from the airport desk, no one picks up the call. Eventually she had to get another hotel. I filed a dispute with my credit card company, to refund the stay. The hotel refused,saying that they will not do it. This is probably the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel.

Great Value

Second visit to this hotel. Service was great. The only negative was that the clubs did not offer live entertainment because of Ramadan. Will stay again.

Horrible experience

They wanted to keep my passport behind the desk while I was staying there. They staff was very demanding regarding this issue and I had a hard time for them to accept cash for the mini bar deposit. I would not advise this hotel to anybody.

I highly recommend this hotel. People were friendly, and room was clean. I will stay there again on my next trip.

Not bad for the price ...

If you are looking for a great deal on a hotel and just need the basics, this is a great place. Al Rigga street is a bit out of the way from the business parks and commerce centers, but Ok. I would stay here again. Only complaint is the neighborhood: the entire road out front is under heavy construction and unsightly.

My stay at the Hawthorn Hotel Deira

The hotel is location is central to all major sites and not far from the airport. There a few convenience stores on the same street as the hotel and a pharmacy as well. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked and were given non smoking rooms but one of the guests was smoking on our floor. When we complained the lady at the front desk said there was nothing they could do but the hotel manager said to call the front desk if it happens again and they will talk to the guest to stop smoking or change rooms. We paid 45AED for the hotel taxi because we felt we will not get the local taxi will not be running as early as 5am but the roads were full of taxi's. We paid 50AED for breakfast but food is generally expensive in Dubai.

Nice Stay

I stayed for 3 nights and found the hotel quite nice with good food and great entertainment. It's downtown (Deira) location makes it convenient to walk to different shops, stores, restaurants, etc. I ordered room service on two occasions. The food was great, and quite affordable. The Sports bar offered live Filipino singers that provided amazing renditions of American Pop songs... The room was in very good condition. Overall, I plan on staying there everytime I go through Dubai.
