    We had a small room that was really too small. It was barely enough for two people and we had three. There was no room for a third bed or cot. The beds were on the small side also (short), since we are slightly over 6 feet in height. Otherwise, the room was nice and clean and the location was only a couple of blocks from the beach, which was nice. The grounds were nice also with birds singing in the trees.

Location. 26 kilometers north of Cairns, in tropical northern Queensland, Australia, lies the picturesque resort town of Palm Cove, where visitors will also find the Mango Lagoon Resort and Wellness Spa. The hotel is located only 400 meters from the Esplanade, beach, restaurants and shops.

Hotel Features. Guests of the resort are greeted in a spacious, cool lobby decorated with simple pillars, arched entrance ways and Zen-like ornamental floor detail. The resort has a tropical rainforest backdrop and is surrounded by palm trees, a 2.5-acre tropical garden and four outdoor pools, including a 50-meter lap pool. All-day dining on local produce is available at the café-style restaurant, whilst the Wellness Spa offers guests a variety of massages and therapeutic treatments. Wireless Internet access and an Internet café are also on site.

Guestrooms. 100 guestrooms include one- and two-bedroom suites and hotel-style rooms decorated with contemporary, simple elegance and tropical accents, such as frangipani paintings. All are air conditioned, and offer television and direct-dial phones. The suites have balconies or patios, and feature separate living/dining areas, laundry facilities and kitchens equipped with refrigerators, stainless steel cooktops, ovens and dishwashers. Suites also offer DVD players.

Expert Tip. Palm Cove is the only beach in the Cairns area that has a jetty. Not only a boon for fishermen and children, early-morning walkers will appreciate the jetty for the enhanced sunrise views it offers.
