Trip Type: Special Event Review 4 of 291Disappointed
I was very excited to stay at this boutique hotel, especially since we had a great experience at the Houston location. The service upon arrival was sub-par. Our room had an awful AC that made a lot of noise to where I couldn't even sleep. When I mentioned it the next day, the staff did move us to a new room and was much larger, with a better view and tons quieter. They did offer a complimentary breakfast every morning. It wasn't outstanding, but it was good. We didn't get to partake in the free wine and beer on any of the nights, but that is a pretty cool feature. I just wish the staff had been more friendly. It is amazing how service (or lack of it) can make all the difference in the world. With all the other options available in Dallas, we will probably not choose this hotel again.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 291In need of new management.
Service was terrible. Valet parking was a nightmare. I requested a bellman (bell hop)at 8:00 a.m., never showed. At 9:00 a.m., I moved my own luggage and business documents (4 boxes) myself. At the same time I requested the bellman, I requested my car from valet parking. Had to wait over 2 hours for car, car was not delivered until 10:30. Food in the hotel restaurant was, at best medicore.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 291NOT ON HALLOWEEN
Awesome Hotel! Two terrible things: The hot tub was no warmer than a bowl of spit and the elevators are super old so, if you love a roller coaster ride at 6 am, this is the place! Halloween weekend was CRAZY! we were not there to take part in the festivities and it was LOUD!! Besides the bull horns blaring on the streets below until the wee hours of the morning and the normal drunken hugging woman in the elevators it was great.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 291Great hotel for money
Nice location downtown, great restaurants in back on Main Street. Nieman Marcus a block away, and the Kennedy museum just a 10 to 15 minute walk. Hotel is nicely done and has great benefits with breakfast and happy hour complimentary.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 291Great stay in Dallas
After reviewing many hotels in the downtown Dallas area, I decided on the Magnolia for my weekend stay. The hotel was very nice and the room was very comfortable. It's right in the heart of downtown so you're within walking distance to anything in that area. The Magnolia only has valet parking for about $22.00/night with unlimited in and out's. The valet staff were great guys as well as the staff at the front desk. I recommend the Magnolia for a very enjoyable stay.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 291Beautiful hotel with some quirks
This was a great hotel that would be almost perfect if it wasn't for a few irritating quirks. The room was FREEZING and the a/c controller in the room didn't work. We couldn't get the room to ever warm up and it made our "romantic" getaway a little difficult to be romantic. Parking was an unbelievable pain. You could either pay $22 for valet parking which ended at 11pm so you better be prepared to not need your car late or go club hopping into the late hours of the night. Or, you could use the garage a block away that made you pay everytime you parked and left - even if it was to go out to dinner then come back. That garage too closes around 11pm then you have to go through a special entrance and have to walk out through a somewhat dangerous exit because they lock the other doors. They really need something like at the Gaylord in Grapevine where you pay one time whether it's valet or self-parking and it covers you for your entire stay. The staff seemed surprisingly uninformed about their own services. Rather than deal with more parking issues we asked the front desk if there was a cab company, shuttle service, anything that they could recommend so we didn't to keep dealing with getting our car in and out and they couldn't give us any information - they weren't even sure if their own valet service could take us to a restaurant and pick us up or not, which when we asked the valet service they would do as long as it's within 2 miles of the hotel. The hotel really was beautiful along with the room and did offer some interesting services like happy hour and milk and cookies. There is also a starbucks on the bottom floor. It would have been perfect if they could have just done a better job with parking for their guests.
