Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 17Charming hotel
We wanted to stay on the Mont St-Michel itself. We got a room in the Green house, last floor without elevator. The room was small, but had a flat screen TV, a desk, a fridge with drinks, and it's own full bathroom. It was very clean. The double bed came as 2 single beds pushed together. The corridors' walls are full of photos of celebrities who stayed there, it's very nice. Also, the location, despite the many many steps, is charming. But then again, you are ON the Mont, what would you expect ? We are very lucky to have a view on the Abbaye, which is nicely litten by night, very romantic. Now, at the reception, the check-out was "funny", but again, that is typical French hotels... The evening, we ate the Restaurant Terrasses Poulard, good, convenient.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 17smallest room in the history of hotels
excellent location, as expected the room was up many steps, not for weak of heart. The hotel did not offer coffee in the building, the breakfast cafe was outside and up the hill about a city block ( not open at 9am when we left). As expected the hotel was vastly overpriced for the room but the location was good.

ADVERTISED AS HAVING THE FEWEST STEPS. THIS IS TRUE BUT YOU ARE VERY CLOSE TO THE STREET AND THIS MAKES FOR A VERY NOISY LOCATION. IF YOU DON'T HAVE DIFFICULTY WITH STEPS, PICK A HOTEL LOCATION HIGHER.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 6 of 17April 2008 Stay
We stayed one night at Les Terrasses Poulard and found the location and hotel was well worth the extra expense. Although a little hard to find since the entrance is just past the Les Poulard Restaurant and Hotel, we found the registration desk and proceeded the 197 steps up to our room which was on the top floor. Quite a climb! The room was clean and tidy, not large, with a double bed, flat screen TV, closet wardrobe, it's own bathroom with a bathtub. The view was ok but partially blocked by a tree outside and we had to keep the other window closed since people walking up the walk outside could see inside. Although it was a climb up to the room, it was that much closer to the Abbey which we then explored. Great views, and a fantastic place to visit. Make sure you are there when the tide comes in, it's very impressive!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 17Beautiful location but...
This hotel is an adventure! Beautiful location. Wonderful to be on the island after the day-trippers have left. Quiet at night, a magic moment to watch the sun set and the tide come in. But! the stairs were a trial. Our hotel room was on the third floor with no elevator, and, after a climb with suitcases up stone steps to get to the hotel, we were exhausted. Also, plan ahead for breakfast at your hotel. The restaurants don't open until later. But this hotel was a wonderful memory

Nothing fancy, but good location and a great place to experience the feel of Mont St Michel. Resonably priced.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 17awesome location
The hotel is on the island with the abbey. It becomes an island during high tide. The history of the location is amazing. The highlight of our stay was at night--when all the day tourists left and we could explore the village with the others staying there. It was magical. The village and abbey is lit up making for spectacular photographs. A must see for the photographer or history buff.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 11 of 17The Best Way to See the Mont St Michell!!!!!
Stunning location.!!!!!!!!!!!!Our family group of 7, visited with 2 aging parents, who found the steps difficult, but the visit was still very rewarding for them-"bragging rights" if you will. We climbed all through the Abbey-the overnight stay was the best way to see this fantastic site-the island was all ours, after all the daytrippers left...The hotel is lovely, clean, reasonably priced, for the location... and the views were striking. Our restaurant downstairs was wonderful and warm on a cool raining night. the postcards do not do this architechtural cream-puff justice.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 13 of 17Only if you want to stay on the island
This hotel is ok if you want to stay on the island, but is overpriced for what you get. However, staying on the island is a great experience since the crowds leave in the late afternoon.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 17Great location
The hotel is near the entrance so its not far to carry bags. Some English speaking staff but all are very friendly. Room clean and well decorated. Typical European size room. Has bathtub with shower handle so not really a shower but was no problem.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 17"A great Big OK"
The hotel was nice enough. We got there during an unexpected hot spell in April, and the A/C advertised was underwhelming. They did allow us use of a fan during our stay, which helped some. The front desk staff was helpful. There was noisy construction/remodeling going on in the hotel during the late morning/early afternoon, which made outings best during this time. An OK place to lay your head at the end of the day in a nice neighborhood. For European standards, bathroom and room size were good, and it had no street noise since not street side.
