Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 23Average, but O K
This motel was an ok place to stay. The main complaint was that the rooms had very poor lighting. I had a reservation with two beds. I actually reveived a unit with 2 large rooms, each with a queen size bed, and each with its own fairly large TV. The two rooms could be separated by closing pocket doors, however the doors had 9 frosted windows with some of the windows broken out. The bathroom was clean. All considered, I would recommend this motel to others.

I found Le Voyageur to be an outstanding hotel because the staff was very helpful and courteous and the rooms were large and comfortable.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 23Nice Surprise
We stayed here one night and found it more than acceptable at an excellent price. The directions to the hotel given us via internet made it much harder to find than it should have been. Staff was helpful and friendly and the dual room concept was great. The La Voyageur exceeded our expectations.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 23Good hotel at great price
Despite the occasional bad review here, I found this hotel to be just fine. The room was nice with a convenient door to divide up the room. Each side had its own bed and TV. The bathroom had nice, clean tiles. The staff was helpful in locating a restaurant, the continental breakfast was standard, and there was an indoor pool. There were no bugs and no problems whatsoever. They allowed pets which is always a plus and a very short drive to the old town. Unless you're on a honeymoon or something, you should not hesitate to use this hotel.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 23Reasonable price and accommodations
Great! The staff spoke French and English and were very helpful. We took taxis to and from Old Quebec City each day since we heard parking can be pricey and a bit of a challenge, and the city buses are not very frequent and take a long time to get to the tourist part of town. Guessing winter weather might make it even tougher to park. The cabs came quickly and were readily available downtown. The hotel had smoking or non-smoking rooms and the halls near smoking rooms were smokey, but our room was just fine - no smoke! We had free continental breakfast each morning with our stay (two croissants or two pieces of toast or two muffins - though we actually mixed and matched a bit, plus orange juice or coffee). We changed some money from U.S. dollars to Canadian at the front desk with no fee (though we had a good rate at the official money exchange in town, too). The rooms were kind of loud, but a whole group of teen hockey players were staying there, so I guess that's to be expected. Plus a crying baby at night. So, maybe bring ear plugs if you're sensitive to night noise. Decent price, a $12 cab ride to/from Old Quebec City (plus tip), and free breakfast. Our room had a nice little mini fridge and we were four people with two double-beds and each bed had a TV of it's own. After visiting Old Quebec City, don't miss L'Hotel de Glace (about 30 minutes drive) and Montmercy Parc falls (about 20 minutes from the hotel)!

The rooms had partitions with 2 queen beds in each room. so it was enough if we had booked just 1 room for 4 ppl. The place was clean and excellant.

Good choice for the price. Short drive from downtown; breakfast included; quiet neighborhood; room was not very clean but acceptable.

This hotel is OK, but for what you pay you can find much better deals in much better locations.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 12 of 23Would not stay here again.
Our room was nicely rehabbed and okay, but overall the rest of the facility was not good. We thought this was rated 3 stars but see now it is not. Lobby was very well worn. Basement was used for bar, breakfast, pool - it was dark, damp, and smelled musty and smoky. Breakfast was choice of rolls or muffins with fruit leftover from the day before. Situated in working class neighborhood. No nearby restaurants.

nice room and location for the money but horrible smell in the room (cigarettes?) and the breakfast was a joke.
