    Keeping to a budget while traveling in Europe can be difficult, but this hotel was perfect for our needs. Nothing fancy - but comfortable. The on site resturant also proved to be as good a value as anywhere and we enjoyed our dinner.

    This hotel was less than we expected -- even for the relatively reasonable price. The room was exceptionally small and there was no staff on duty; if you want service, you must trek across the parking lot to the hotel restaurant. Also, a dispute arose over breakfast because there is no check-in procedure in which amenities are explained. So if you should believe that breakfast is included, it isn't.

The Hotel Le Saint Aubert is a former traditional shepherd's barn set in its own gardens, just two kilometres from Mont Saint-Michel's medieval abbey. The 27 guestrooms, over two floors, have simple, modern furnishings and offer satellite television, desks and direct-dial phones.

Guests can start the day with breakfast services, and in the evenings relax over drinks in the hotel's bar, while staff at the 24-hour front desk can help with any enquiries or advise on the surrounding area. The hotel has meeting and conference facilities accommodating up to 200 people and there is free onsite parking for those arriving by car. The hotel's La Bergerie restaurant serves a menu of traditional cuisine, in the rustic atmosphere of the shepherd's barn, featuring a terrace and music café. The hotel is well placed for exploring the surrounding area; the historical cities of Saint Malo and Dinard, and the famous oyster beds of Cancale are all 55 kilometres from the hotel. It is 50 kilometres to the Granville aquarium and harbour, and the copper, lace and pewter museums of Villedieu les Poeles, the 'City of Copper', is 45 kilometres away. Rennes St Jacques Airport is an approximate distance of 80 kilometres, a 70-minute drive.
