    The location to the old part of Lyon is ok, but the room was very old and the bathroom was in desparate need of a remodel job. The tile was cracked and needed to be cleaned and some of the towel racks were falling out of the walls! The pictures are not a good representation of the room. The room was small but for Europe not terrible.

    Make sure you reserve a room in the front building of the hotel; the back newer building is under-heated, ugly, and in need of redecoration. The front part of the hotel is a gem -- a total bargain!!!

Le Phenix Hotel in Lyon is an historic hotel with Florentine architecture comprising three connecting buildings dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. It is located on the banks of the Saone in the heart of Old Town, within 500 metres of the Opera and the Musée des Beaux Arts. The 36 air-conditioned guestrooms are decorated in warm colour schemes with contemporary furnishings. All feature wireless Internet access, minibars, hair dryers, safes and satellite television.

Guests at the Le Phenix Hotel can admire the 18th century fireplaces and restored columns in the lobby, relax with a drink and enjoy live jazz music in the bar; although there is no restaurant on site, breakfast is available each morning and the hotel offers room service.

While at the Le Phenix Hotel, Lyon, business travellers will appreciate the wireless Internet system in public areas and can make use of conference rooms. In addition, there is a private parking garage (fee). Guests will find the historic and cultural attractions of the Old Town, a UNESCO heritage site, right on the doorstep, while the city centre shops are around 500 metres away. For city centre, the airport shuttle bus runs every 20 minutes departing from bus stop number 1; a return ticket costs around 15.
