with choice of a hotel situation or single room to stay in this hotel makes you feel like at home with out being at home. Very friendly staff and very appealing room make this hotel/hostel a very good choice

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 14Great Hotel, Strange Stay
This hotel was in a great location for what I wanted to see...what I wanted to do. The staff was helpful in locating stores, and restaurants in the area. I had received quite a large room, with 2 bedrooms....so I thought "wow, this is great!" Upon returning later in the evening, it turns out that the other bedroom would be someone else's room! The adjoining door area didn't lock, meaning that person had access to my room! Turns out this is more a hostel, with a few hotel rooms, than just a hotel. Since the front desk closes at 11pm, I decided to just stay put for the night and hope for the best. Luckily everything turned out ok.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 14Comfortable but a bit noisy
Visited in March, during snowy season, and street parking was difficult to find. Hotel directed us to a pay lot several blocks away--NO FREE PARKING. Room was comfortable, with basic amenities, but very noisy. Walls are VERY thin and voices can be heard through floors, even at low volumes. There was a "continental breakfast" provided, but it was minimal, with only bread/toast and corn flakes available. Overall O.K. experience. Good not great.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 14location, location, location
i went to montreal for a week in october. i must say i could not have chosen a beter address. the area (latin quarter) is very nice indeed. the restaurants are abundant and the university studends give the place an energy. the walls are thin and locked doors ajoining the rooms, mske for little privacy. i brought ear plugs and head phones with me because i read some reviews that suggested i might be needing to control the sounds. i am glad i did.

The hotel is cute, very complete in service and near to restaurants and the bus station. I enjoyed my stay.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 8 of 14overbooked?
When I arrived this hotel the door was closed with a note there asking to call a local phone number, so I had to spend my roaming to locate the receptionist. He arrived 10 minutes later with a weird explanation: there were rooms available. He called another hotel (of modest quality) to find a room for me and then send me walking with my luggage to that place. I strongly don't recommend this place.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 9 of 14Don't expect too much!!
On arrival there was some confusion about having the 2 double rooms we had booked (and paid for) for a three nights stay. After a few calls to Hotels.com and having them call the manager the problem was somewhat sorted out. As we passed the managers office during our stay many other guests seemed to have a similar problem. It seems that the hotel regularly over-books its rooms. This is the first such experience with hotels.com and I hope the last!!

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 14Can't Read Reservation Details
We were shocked when the manager showed our family of 5 a room with one double bed. The reservation for a sweet with two rooms and a minimum two double beds clearly stated our numbers but they professed surprise. They tried to put us in two rooms on separate floors and then tried to exact an additional fee per child. Hotels.com helped iron things out when I called from my cell phone, but my first hours in Montreal were extremely stressful to say the least. Once we were in the right room, the service and accomodations were very acceptable considering the low price. The neighborhood is a bit dicey for a family with kids, think St. Mark's Place in Manhattan, but we enjoyed our stay in the city.

The VIP suite is very quaint ...in an awesome part of Montreal( the latin quarter). In walking distance to shops and resturants. More a bed and breakfast, then hotel. Great for a romantic getway!!! :)
