Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 199Nice place
The personnel from the valet parker, to the front desk, to the room maids were all so pleasant, helpful, and concerned to make things nice. We did have a small problem when we arrived of a stale odor but we mentioned it to desk when we went out to eat and it was fixed while we were out. Room was a little smaller than some, and the place to hang clothes was at side of bathroom sink, crowded. Loved the restaurants nearby.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 199Fair
Noisy heating and cooling system in the room... Kind of drowned out the tv and made phone conversation difficult whenever it kicked in. Having a room right in front of the elevator banks with thin walls made it very noisy whenever loud staff or other guests were waiting for the elevator. Not a bad place to sleep, but not a quiet getaway nor a good place to get work done. Neighborhood excellent and price fair for location.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 199Worth it for its affordability and location
The internet connection they have here is a faulty wireless network which is spotty at best. I was on the phone with the technical support line twice in three days. I was in town on business so this greatly affected me. The TV was this old and had an awful picture. Plus it turned on and off by itself, very odd. If you're in town for pleasure and just need a place to crash, this is ideal. The staff was uber-helpful and friendly. They were fantastic the duration of my stay. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk to the Metro in Foggy Bottom, about as close as you'll get in Georgetown.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 4 of 199Noisy Heater and small rooms but fabulous location
The location was excellent, right in the heart of Georgetown! The rooms are offset from M St. and the street noise is minimal. The rooms were small (we had a king size bed that took up most of the room), but I did not mind that so much since the rooms looked like they had been newly refurbished and were decorated tastefully. The main problem was the noisy heater. Very difficult to fall asleep with the noise. Could not turn off the heater, so the room was either too hot or too cold. In spite of the noisy heater, I would definitely stay there again for the low price that we paid.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 199Very good (albeit not perfect)
While the room was small and crammed with an armoire that was unnecessarily large, the beds were very comfortable and -- very rare in a hotel -- the bed-side lighting excellent. Areas under beds and furniture hadn't been vacuumed for a while, which was icky to come across. Otherwise, the housekeeping was fine.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 199Good room for the money
Overall, we had an enjoyable stay at the Latham Hotel. It was a great location and very convenient. Considering the price and location, I would stay here again. The only negative comments are the amenities were somewhat out-dated and the room was very small.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 7 of 199Poor Customer Service
Being in Georgetown, we knew the rooms would be small, but . . We had to wait over 2 1/2 hours for our room to be ready. While waiting, we were offered nothing. When our room was finally ready, the bellman left bags in the closet, and took so long to get to us that we took our own bags to the room. The room: peeling wallpaper, no full length mirror, and the door had a gap of about 1 inch around it. I was so nervous that anyone could push their way in I stacked my luggage by the door at night. We had to walk outside past the pool to get to our room. There was a domestic disturbance in another room at 4:00am. I call down to the desk to tell them. About 15 minutes I had to call back down and tell them if they didn't do something I was going to call the police. I was quite fearful for the the outcome. Upon check out I told the front desk how disappointing the hotel was, they just looked at me and had nothing to say. Never, ever stay there!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 8 of 199Star Staff
I had my rental car towed soon after arriving. The front desk was very helpful in knowing who to call and in getting the right numbers. Large comfy bed; clean overall. Smallish room. Perhaps the "09" rooms are all like that. Excellent Georgetown location.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 9 of 199Ok hotel for price
The hotel is quite nice. It is right on the main strip in Georgetown, which is a great area for food. You have to pay extra for parking (with valet service) but that is not unusual for major metropolitan areas. The major complaint we had with the room was that the air conditioner was very loud and rattled the entire night. I slept fine because I had ear plugs, but my boyfriend did not sleep the entire night.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 199Great visit to Georgetown
Loved the hotel, room was small but well decorated and very comfortable. Great bed linens, clean & well maintained room, friendly staff (front desk and bell men)upscale decor, perfect location and a great price! For the price I was expecting an older budget hotel in a less convenient location (which were the other alternatives in this price range). My daughter and I stayed there for one night on our college visit to see Georgetown University. The hotel was about 8 blocks away from the school so we took a cab in the morning, just a couple of minute ride but we didn't want to arrive sweaty since it was a warm day. Later in the afternoon we walked back to the hotel and it took about 15 minutes. The neighborhood is close to all our favorite stores and we also found some great restaurants nearby. If my daughter does decide to attend Georgetown next year I can guarantee that we will be regular visitors.
