Nice Room

The staff was very friendly and made you feel welcome. Room was nice and clean, I felt safe there and it was quiet. They had a nice complementary breakfast. This would be a good place for business personel to stay. Familys could also stay there. I would book this room again, and would recommend to others.

Although the price was great for the room, the room smelled terrible from the moment I walked in. I asked for a non smoking room and that was not the case. I was in for a conference, I did not have time to speak to the hotel staff. Overall this hotel needs upgrade

It's more like a motel... I stayed for a week and the room was old and a little musty but decent enough. The bed was comfortable and everything in the room worked. The carpet was dirty so I didnt walk barefoot in the room and there was a bug problem. I found dead bugs on my blanket and on the dresser. Hotel staff was friendly and accomodating and offered to switch rooms. If you're visiting for a party weekend then it's doable but if you plan to be in the room for long periods of time, I'd find another hotel.

Didn't clean my room at all one day, poorly one other day. Towels and shampoo and coffee not replenished.

We were excited to be in New Orleans and was dissapointed that the Internet conection had a poor signial and would only work if in the lobby. The shower was awful, no water pressure and it was really hard to get soap off of you. We liked that there was no valet parking because that was one of the attractions for us to this hotel but after being there a night we decided to cancel our remainding time there and go to the Hilton instead.

We arrived to the hotel around 4:00 or 5:00pm on Aug. 6 '09. The receptionist's (Alexis) was rude when I asked her if we could have a 'joining' room since I reserved for 2 rooms. She told me repeatedly that there weren't no joining room available. Okay, okay, I said to her, I heard you the first time. Finally we were given our room keys and Alexis gave us the wrong direction on how to get to our rooms (3rd floor)- no access to the 3rd floor from the direction she gave us. We got to the 2nd flr and asked the people who were sitting in the middle of the walkway on how to get to the 3rd floor but they were clueless. Finally after going back down to the ist flr and found the well hidden elevator, we got to our rooms opened the door and phew! what an unpleasant smell greeted us at the door- it smelled so bad that we had to ran back outside to be able to breath. We called the front desk to complain and they moved us to a different room where it was 3-4 rooms away from the other. Then we found out that we had a nonworking phone in one of the room and when I complaint abt it they told me that they couldnt do anything for there was a problem with the phone line and that they were going to MOVE us to a diiferent room AGAIN, I told the hotel employee to forget abt it. Not a very pleasant stay for me and my family at all.

perfect for our purposes

Moving to New Orleans in July - and stayed here for 3 nights while searching for a place to live. Storage unit right next door - so we could store our things there - first month free! No more than a 10 - 15 minute drive to anywhere in the city. Very friendly staff - good continental breakfast. Make you own waffles - hard boiled eggs - lots of muffins and breads -cereal, juice - coffee etc. Outdoor pool refreshing at the end of the day of apartment searching. Decent place for the price. Not the Ritz - but comfortable and safe.

Great room

LaQuinta Westbank is a very good hotel in a very nice neighborhood. There's an IHOP in the parking lot and a mall next door. It's right off the interstate in New Orleans with easy on-off access. The room was very comfortable (though the bed was a little soft for my liking) and housekeeping was very nice and accommodating. In all, two thumbs up!
