spoke to customer care said I would not be charged for stay still appears on cc no hot water had to take my grand kids to gas station to wash up and use bathroom not a good hotel experience for grandparents

Great Hotel

Great freeway access. Not far from UC Berkeley. Very clean rooms and friendly front desk service.

reasonable cost for berkeley

not bad, a little too far from campus in a marginal neighborhood. otherwise reasonable.

Great room for the money

I fish out of Berkely Marina a couple times a year and always stay at La Quinta Inn Berkeley. Service has improved with check in and the Inn is very clean. The comp. breakfast is very well done, swimming pool is great. The only problem last stay is I left something in the room and I checked out, went back three minutes later- they gave me a key card and after three trips to the desk they said the door had failed and they did not know when maintancewould be in. Leave a credit card and they would be happy to send it home. I'm glad the door did not fail when I came back after dinner the night before.

Don't Stay Here

Room was dowdy. A/C wasn't working and they never fixed it (and it was hot!). Toilet didn't flush properly. Water pressure nonexistent in shower. Breakfast was gruesome (mystery meat, dry fake eggs, coffee and juice machines always out of order). Nice people at reception desk, but despite niceness couldn't get anything accomplished. Would never stay here again.

Great location; old rooms

This hotel is pet friendly, so I could not go to sleep due to barking next door plus the pet owner was very loud. The room was clean, but old/aged and the swimming pool and jacuzzi were closed for the "season", but it was already spring. Other hotels near by had the pool and jacuzzi open.

Old but remodeled

The overall hotel was clean, but I don't understand why they would put someone in a room with wet carpet outside the bathroom. We stayed for 3 days and the carpet was still wet when we checked out. I can only hope it was not from the toilet.

Convenient location

We stayed at this hotel due to its proximity to the Berkeley campus and public transportation. It worked out great. Staff was very friendly, hotel was clean, even though it's an older hotel. Elevator was a bit sketchy and we thought we were stuck once. The hotel is on a busy road, so there is some noise, but not too bad.
