La Mariposa was a wonderful experience. The hotel itself it beautiful with a wraparound infinity pool in the jungle overlooking the ocean and our ocean view room had a lovely terrace with a hammock. It's very well located to the center of town yet peaceful. The upper pool includes a bar you can swim to. My main recommendation for them would be better service. At times I felt the staff could have been more efficiently attentive given the price point. Also - our bed was two double beds attached together which didn't make for the most comfortable sleep. Overall though, I would definitely recommend this place and on a whole it exceeded my expectations.

Originally I wanted to stay at Si Como No but it was booked due to High Holy Week. Thank heavens for 2nd choices. The room was fabulous (no t.v. great) but free wi-fi in our room above the lobby. Food, staff, pool, bars, sunsets, other guests all were great. My sights were set down a notch but if far exceeded them and was a fabulous time. Lesson learned regarding going in Manuel Antonio National Park. When you drive to the park, folks with official looking uniforms and whistles, force you to park on a public street, near the beach and street vendors and tell you to book your tour guide with them @ $20 per person. DON'T do that. Drive to the front of the park to see how far it is to walk, then drive back to the public street and park a bit further away, it is a public street and they charge unsuspecting tourists $4. The guide they provided us was different from the one we were told we'd have. They added us to another group of tourists..total of 5. Which is a problem as you all have to share one telescope to view the animals. My advice is go all the way to the park entrance gate, where you pay the $10 per person admission and speak with one of the tour guides there, wearing an official logo on his shirt and make sure you can understand him. Our guide was in such a hurry to get us out of the park that we left our group and just moved from telescope to telescope of other groups to see what they were looking at in the trees or forests. Do get a guide, but don't get bamboozeled.
