Although mass transportation is very convenient, the choices for dining is very limited

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 460$24/day parking!
They did not inform me when I checked in. I stayed two nights and the lady told me that your parking fee is $24. I did not know it is $24 per day. The room was cleaned but everything is just old. The carpet, shower tub and lamp definitely neeeded to be replaced.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 460Waited on the phone for 30 minutes
My train was very late getting into LA so I called the hotel at 11 pm on Saturday night to let them know that I would be checking in late. After navigating a bewildering automatic phone system I found myself on hold for 20 minutes before talking with a hotel reservation representatvie at which point I described my simple request of a late check in. I was told that they could not help me and that I would need to contact the front desk and the person directed me to call back as they could not transfer me. After calling back it took several attempts on the automated phone system to get through to the front desk at which point they were able to confirm a late check in. This was not the way I wanted to spend my night out in LA, on the phone, on hold for 30 minutes for a very simple request. That being said the room was fine, the hotel quite clean and the staff friendly.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 460Got the job done
I stayed at this hotel for two weeks due to a business trip and the proximity to my customer location. I stayed in two different rooms since I checked out over the weekend. Here is my experience.... They seem a bit short staffed on the front desk - only one or two people there and pretty crowded most of the time - there are a lot of Asian guests, and I think this slows things down at the front desk due to the language barrier. Once you are checked in and past the front desk, things get better... The rooms were spacious - a huge closet was very nice. I had a refrigerator in each room which was nice since I was there two weeks. Everything worked, the rooms were clean - nothing spectacular, but cozy enough for two weeks. The elevators are fast - there are 4 of them, so I didn't waste time each day waiting for elevators - very nice I never ate at any of the restaurants at the hotel so I can't comment on the food, but there is a starbucks as part of the hotel which was very nice. I also didn't rent a car - the daily parking fee at the hotel is outrageous, and I chose to use public transportation the entire two weeks I was there - once you figure out the system, there is little need to have a car, as los angeles has a very good public transportation system. The flyaway bus to/from the airport is only seven bucks each way, so you'll save a lot if you don't rent a car. The only real complaint I have is there are very few places to eat close to the hotel. There is an asian grocery store behind the hotel so I bought supplies there, but if you are looking for a lot of selection for dining within walking distance, you might want to look elsewhere. Overall, the hotel was fine, but I wasn't in the room a lot due to my work schedule. If you don't mind the limited selection of restaurants and the fact that the hotel is in Little Tokyo, you'll be fine - frankly, I enjoyed the cultural experience.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 10 of 460Not what I'd expected
The service was horrible, took about 20 mins before we got checked in. The establishment was understaffed. The room was different from picture seen on the website. Overnight parking for hotel guest cost $24.00. NO LATE CHECK OUT and hotel was old and messy. I would not stay there again or recommend anyone else to.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 460Close to Everything downtown LA
This hotel offers an excellent affordable lodging for touring LA. We spent 30 minutes driving to the Getty Museum for a memorable day. jacuzzi not available during our stay. It's fun to stroll through the gardens and feel the ambiance of this oasis in the midst of LA. We will return next year for another bit of LA fun!!! Castle Hunter San Diego

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 460Slower check ins and outs
I'm pretty regular at this hotel. Noticed over the last few weeks that it's taking a lot longer to get checked in and out. The staff is pleasant when I get up to the desk but you can tell they are under a little bit of stress because of the lines.
