Knollwood House

Set on the 15th fairway of the Mid Pines Golf Club, designed by Donald Ross, the Knollwood House is located in Southern Pines, N.C. Shops, restaurants and boutiques in Southern Pines are approximately one mile from the home. The Carolina Horse Park at Five Points, an equestrian center which hosts national and international competitions, is less than two miles away. The Longleaf Country Club, Pine Needles Golf Club and Hyland Hills Golf Club are within two miles of the property. Pinehurst village is less than five miles away.

Nestled on five acres, this restored 1927 English manor style home is surrounded by azaleas, holly trees, long leaf pines and towering magnolias. Complimentary gourmet breakfasts are served each morning in the dining room. Dinner is available for a fee. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided throughout the property. The home boasts 10-foot ceilings and a living room featuring a fireplace, antiques and oriental rugs. The porch offers outdoor seating, and the sunroom features white wicker furniture, French windows, and hanging ferns. Famous guests have stayed at the Knollwood House over the years, including the 1931 U.S. Open Champion, Billy Burke. The Glenn Miller band once played on the home's front lawn. Concierge services are available to arrange for dinner and spa reservations, and schedule area tours and horseback riding. Pets are not allowed at the property.

The Knollwood House offers four guestrooms in the main house and two suites in the Ivy Cottage, a converted carriage house. All units feature private bathrooms and Turkish terry-cloth bathrobes. Fresh towels are provided three times a day. Beds are dressed with starched white eyelet sheets. All accommodations offer cable television, and feature antique furnishings. The Ivy Cottage suites are equipped with wet bars, refrigerators and coffeemakers, and offer views of the 14th and 15th fairways of the Mid Pines Golf Club.
