needs lots of help

Not what I expected. Not on the beach. You have to cross the main street and take a path past another hotel to get to the beach. Although they say renovated it is old and bad. The only thing that looked renovated was a wall and the shower. Pool was filthy. spa was small and unkept in its apperance. If I could have received a refund, I would have stayed somewhere else. I would not stay there again.

Comfortable, rustic, plain and peaceful

This place was great for me and for the price I paid. The rooms are kind of rustic. The TV is old and cheap (they have VCR's). That said I didn't watch the TV, I sat out on the comfy patio chairs in front of my room and enjoyed the wonderful Tahoe air. The "Lake view" is somewhat obstructed by trees as the Inn is across the street from the lake. There was a nice clean new refrigerator to cool my beer. The bed was comfortable. Like I said it is rustic, if you are one of those people who needs a lot of pampering; room service, constant request to the front desk, frequent maid service, extra pillows and so on, stay somewhere else. But if you are like me and you like the smell of the woods and the simple things in life than this is your place. The staff was wonderful and couldn't have been friendlier. Hope this helps.

Needs Serious Improvement

This hotel was substandard in many ways, primarily their customer service, room cleanliness, and condition of hotel. I called the day before we arrived to tell them we would be arriving around 11 pm. They said no problem. We arrived at 11 pm. They have no staff on site. There is a phone outside the office with instructions to simply pick it up and wait. We did so, and the phone simply rang and rang. Finally, it would disconnect itself. We did this off and on for over a half hour, meanwhile, calling Hotels.com to see what to do. Finally, after spending an hour trying to figure out how to get in our room, the answering service picked up the phone, and gave us the 'code' to the lock box on the office porch, where we finally got our key and were able to get in our room. The next day, I asked the office staff to have the maid put two more pillows in our room. That night, when we returned, there were no extra pillows, but we had 4 extra towels. The maids had also neglected to replace the coffee packs used up that morning. I called the office and asked that the things be brought. The next day, when they replenished the coffee packs, they left all decaffeinated, rather than a mixture of both. The room was never vacuumed nor cleaned the entire time we were there. They simply made the beds and left fresh towels, as far as I could tell. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
