Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 81Great Hotel
We had a wonderful experience. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Great location and excellent service. Reminded me of a European hotel. The coffee bar could have been open longer and was short on coffee. Otherwise wonderful!

First, the WiFi was slow. But free which is better than a few other hotels. The staff were polite, helpful and knowledgable. Good location being only a short walk to anything you could want. Try two blocks around for a restaurant; all good. Breakfast is two blocks towards Union Square on the right hand side. All trolley buses are easy to find.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 4 of 81Great location, friendly staff
The hotel is perfected located just a few steps from Union Square. Front Desk staff are very friendly and offer tips for what to do and where to eat. A charming, relaxing place to stay.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 81Great Historic Property
A quaint old building that is still the Elks Lodge and the site of a theater. Definitely not a cookie-cutter box. Smallish room with tasteful decor and a very comfortable bed. Large bathroom. Informal tea and sherry in the lobby was wonderful. Very close to everything. Our only two disappointments were the lack of the advertised 24-hour coffee (never saw any) and an annoying flashing light on the back of the large TV (security light? Just covered it with a hand towel). If we get back to San Fran again, we will definitely stay there again!

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 81Great for the money
I found the room to be cozy and comfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have found in a hotel. The room was small, but met our needs. The location was perfect!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 8 of 81Great Location and Staff
Despite our room being a tad small we had a very enjoyable stay here. This hotel is in a great location. It is close to Union Square and all the shops. Also cable cars and buses were very close by. The staff is very welcoming, friendly and eager to please. They were happy to give us restaurant recommendations and directions which helped us a lot. Also very important, the room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend the Kensington Park Hotel to family and friends.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 81Only one problem
There was not a coffee maker or coffee/tea in our room. We had to go to the 9th or 11th floor for coffee and the 12th floor for orange juice.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 15 of 81A gem
It was my second time staying at Kensington Park, and I absolutely love this place... especially for the price. You can't beat the location, the staff is friendly, and they have little perks like OJ and coffee in the morning (no coffeemaker in the room, but I never bother with those anyhow) and sherry and tea in the afternoon. It is less than a block from Union Square, and walking distance to Chinatown and some cool bars and restaurants in the Tenderloin. I like the historic feel of the place - I think it was built in 1923. However, I guess some people might not see the charm. My only complaint was that the room keys kept getting demagnetized - it hasn't happened to me at any other hotel, so I don't think the other contents of my purse are entirely to blame, as the front desk employee suggested.
