Jerusalem Panorama Hotel

Be sure to ask for a room with a view of the old city. It's a five-star plus view! One you will never forget. This is a basic hotel run by fabulously helpful people. For example, they arranged for a car rental for us, with the car brought to the front door of the hotel. Likewise, they were able to arrange for transportation to the West Bank. They directed us to the local neighborhood restaurants---very simple, but very authentic and good. This is not a tourist experience, but a real community experience. Our room was spotlessly clean, though very simple. The hotel is easy walking distance to the Mt. of Olives and a doable walk to two of the city's gates. A frequent bus takes you from the hotel to the Damascus gate in five minutes. The hotel is in a safe, mostly Arab neighborhood, a good hotel for those seeking to expand their horizons. We loved exploring the neighborhood.

I most of the time tend to be possitive and objective with my opinions. The side of the hotel i was staying at was beatiful, we could see the east part of Old City. In addition we were at Mt. of Olives which was beatiful too but that was the only two thing possitive i could only mention here. when i stepped out the taxi to enter the hotel i just wanted to run from there, the surroundings were dirty and unsafe. there was no hotel security at all in such a dangerous place. we checked out earlier than planned and sought for a safer hotel worth paying the price for our peace of mind. they say the have satelite tv, well we had NONE, we were fooled. the towels in the restrooms were supposely white but they looked yellow. we gave thanks it was not summer because it looked like we had no air conditioning. If you are looking for confort, security, and relaxation, this is not the place for you to be.
