Great place, but don't eat at the restaurants

We took two rooms for our family of 5 at this hotel for an overnight at the Dead Sea. It was at the southern end of Ein Bokek, the last among the hotels at the sea, and is a lovely hotel. The staff was fine and the sea convenient, though it required a short walk or golf cart ride to the dead sea itself. The hotel is not a spa like some, and doesn't offer huge entertainment for children like others. But if you want a clean place to stay, with easy access to the sea and reasonable rates, this is wonderful. The reasonable rates, however, do not extend to the restaurants at the hotel, which were outrageous. Thank goodness there is now an Aroma in Ein Bokek!

Dreadful hotel

Hotel has no personality or charm. It is huge and the lobby bar, buffet, etc. reminded us of a cruise ship, i.e. auditorium like, set up for millions of tourists with no aesthetics. Staff was very unhelpful, told us nothing about the hotel on check-in except live music in bar started at 10 pm when it ENDED at 10 pm. Pay-per-use internet computers didn't work for 2 days. Very noisy hotel. Pool was wall-to-wall people & kids; we didn't even use it. Spa was ridiculously expensive. Workout room was hot & tiny. Free parking was approx. 50 spaces for a 400 room hotel. Hotel is being renovated and carpets are a mess. Don't stay here!
