Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 22Outstanding!
Our expectations were exceeded with this hotel. Extremely well kept for what we assume is an "older" property. Complete kitchen was an added bonus. View from our room (123) was terrific. We will defintely stay again if we return to Islamorada and will certainly recommend to anyone who might be planning a trip to this fun key.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 22great room for the money
The day we checked in, the clerks were very rude, they told me they would hold a $50 damage deposit, when I checked my account on line they held $701, my room had been already pre-paid by hotels.com, not everyone has that kind of extra money on vacation. My 3rd day, the air conditioner broke, with in 3 minutes of my call, someone was at my door, checked the unit, pulled it from the wall and replaced it 3 minutes later. Very impressive. After returning from my trip I realized I forgot my camera charger/battery, the staff was very nice, she called me back after she found it,and is sending it to me. Complaint - you cannot bring your own drink/food, into the pool area, this included bottled water. Families spend lots of time at the pool, I can understand no glass or alcohol, but water and juice boxes for the kids, was a little much!!!!!

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 22Great Time
We took our two boys down for a three day trip and we had a great time. Our room walked right out onto the beautiful beach and the boys loved snorkling and fishing at the hotel more than anything. My mother and I enjoyed the two pools and the tiki hut in the late afternoon when the ocean breeze felt so good. Enjoyed every place that we went to eat, especially right across the street at Lorelei's. Great time by all and will definitely be going back.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 22Nice hotel
When I arrived (after 24 hours drive) I received the key to the room that was not cleaned after previuos guests, but after complaining to the front desk my room was imediately upgraded to the ocean wiev room which was really nice. The bed was comfottable and the room was big!! Nice screaned patio also! The room was not as clean as I would expect (the floor wasn't cleaned, there were some bugs in the room) but the towels were clean and the bed was very clean too. Two nice, clean pools, tiki bar and complimentary breakfast made my stay very enjoyable! There is no beach but the hotel has nice water front!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 12 of 22Quiet & Beautiful
This hotel was nicer than I expected. The rooms are big with refrigerator, Microwave, and big flatscreen T.V. The grounds are quiet with mature trees a nice little private beach and lovely swimming pool. This is a very nice place to stay.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 22great place to stay
Great place to stay; the only improvement on our room would have been 2 queen beds instead of double beds.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 22What a Pleasant Surprise!
What an absolutely wonderful surprise The Islander Resort was. It is a sprawling property with with a LARGE sand beach area that has many beautiful palm trees and great chaise lounges, and the gounds are LUSH with tropical plants. All the rooms are on ground level and have screen porches--a feature I wasn't sure I would like. (For a short trip, the kitchenette included in the room was unnecessary, however for those staying a week or more would find this helpful.)The whole property has recently been updated and the rooms had a bright, happy "carribean" feel. The pool area was just beautiful and included TWO pools with well designed hardscapes and lush landscapes and always had Carribean or Jimmy Buffet music quietly in the background--such a perfect mood maker!!! The pool bar and alfresco dining was very "Floribbean" and the food as such a big surprise. We are "foodies" and our food choices we excellent!! Bottom Line---this place had a very updated but RETRO feel. SOOO very comfortableand like being in OLD Florida--something one just doesn't find anymore. We would definitely stay there again. What a Pleasant Surprise!
