See more detailsLocation. The Iris Inn Bed & Breakfast is located on the west side of the Blue Ridge Mountains overlooking the Shenandoah Valley in Waynesboro, Va. The George Washington National Forest is six miles away. Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridgeway Parkway offer scenic drives six miles from the property. The American Shakespeare Center is less than 12 miles away.
Features. Nestled on 11 wooded acres, the inn features a Great Room with a 28-foot stone fireplace and a hand-painted, 20-foot mural of the wildlife in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Complimentary breakfasts, including freshly baked breads, are served each morning in the Great Room. French doors lead to the back deck. The loft library overlooking the Great Room includes a computer for guests' use. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the inn. A three-story tower, outdoor spa tub and decks that surround the inn offer views of the Shenandoah National Forest. Pets are not allowed at the property.
Guestrooms. Guestrooms and suites offer private access to either first- or second-floor furnished decks. Suites feature gas fireplaces, kitchenettes and jetted tubs. Select accommodations offer sitting areas, sleigh beds and four-poster beds.
Expert Tip. The Shenandoah National Park, located less than 15 miles away, offers 196,000 acres, with 40% of the land as designated wilderness. The park is home to thousands of species of wildlife, aquatic insects, birds and plants. The wilderness ranges from cool mountain streams and mountain peaks to hardwood forests. Hiking trails along the Appalachian Trail run run through the park.
