    I received a very good rate at this hotel and realized why upon check in. The location and staff were great however the hotel rooms are very out of date - everything is from the 1970s or 1980s and glaringly so. Very ancient compared to other Intercontinentals that I've stayed with.

Location. The InterContinental Wellington is located in Wellington, New Zealand, 100 meters from the Wellington Cable Car, 500 meters from the Parliament Buildings and 750 meters from Te Papa Museum. The city center hotel is 750 meters from Wellington Railway Station and eight kilometers from the airport.

Hotel Features. The hotel lobby features wood-paneled walls, gleaming dark tile floors, black accents and a white ceiling. The hotel includes a health club and a business center. Wireless Internet access is available in public areas for a fee.

InterContinental Wellington's Chameleon Restaurant serves contemporary New Zealand cuisine during breakfast, lunch and dinner hours. Arizona Bar and Grill offers Tex-Mex cuisine and drinks, and also is open during breakfast, lunch and dinner hours. The hotel provides 24-hour room service.

The business center is staffed 24 hours a day and includes computers, office equipment and high-speed wired and wireless Internet access for a fee. The hotel includes 11 conference rooms.

Emerge Health Club includes a gym, a spa tub, a sauna and an indoor pool. Massage and other spa treatments are offered.

In addition to art, history and environmental exhibits, the museum also includes a large collection of Maori artifacts. Admission is free, but there are fees for tours, other activities and some special exhibitions.
