    A clean, contemporary styled hotel serving both business and touring travelers. Clean and pleasant. It is located at the railroad and bus stations and only a block from the main tram line. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the old city. The only aspect some may not appreciate is the noise that passing trains make, especially during warm weather when the window is open. My wife and I enjoyed a 3-day stay.

    This hotel is a typical modern European hotel, clean, tasteful decoration, more spacious than older hotels. This InterCity, like most, is right next to the main train station. The hotel gives free street tram passes to guests which makes this an excellent place to use as a jumping off point for Freiburg area touring. The housekeeping staff does a great job and the cleaning staff manager was particular in doublechecking the staff's work. The only negative to this hotel is that the wireless internet service was grossly expensive when compared to other hotels, and particularly when compared to T-Mobile. But there are a few cheap internet hot spots in the area.

The InterCityHotel Freiburg is a large modern hotel beside Freiburg's main train station, one kilometre from the city centre and the historic old town. Its 152 guestrooms, set over nine floors, feature modern decor in neutral tones with light wood wall panels and furnishings. All offer desks, wireless Internet access, satellite television with pay movies, direct-dial telephones and minibars. Bathrooms have showers and hair dryers.

The hotel's Restaurant im InterCityHotel is decorated in warm earth tones with modern furniture and an integrated bar, and is open daily (except Sundays) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It offers international, German and regional cuisine, with an extensive wine selection befitting this famous wine-producing region. Guests can browse complimentary newspapers over coffee in the lobby, relax with drinks in the hotel's informal bar area, and seek advice from the multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk on sightseeing and excursions in the surrounding area. The business traveller can use eight soundproofed, 75 person-capacity conference rooms with modern presentation technology, and the hotel additionally features 'business corners' for impromptu meetings, as well as wireless Internet access in all public areas. A public parking garage is available at a rate of €9 for 24 hours. Fees are subject to change. The hotel also offers complimentary use of public transport.

Freiburg is a historic town on the edge of the Black Forest, close to both Switzerland and France, and the hotel is well placed to explore the surrounding area; the Münster cathedral is a kilometre from the hotel, as is Zum Roten Bären, thought to be Germany's oldest inn. The Black Forest offers recreation such as hiking, fishing, mountain biking and seasonal downhill skiing. Lake Titisee, 35 kilometres away, has a beach, and there is a golf course 10 kilometres away at Freiburg-Kappel. Basel- Mulhouse-Freiburg Airport is 60 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 70-90 minutes.
