Inn at Pocono Manor

May need some updating, but it has charm

The hotel was old, but it had a charm to it. Our visit was in the fall so the surroundings of the hotel and view from our room was beautiful! The hotel could use some updating, but the room was clean. The biggest complaint I have is the noise! Because the hotel was so old you could hear ever bit of commotion in the hallway from your room, and vice versa! Be prepared to go to bed with the last people to go to bed and to wake up with the first people to wake up. Also Parking is limited because the hotel hosts weddings and events, we we had to park and WALK quite a distance in the dark to the hotel door. Overall The hotel worked well for our short stay and was clean and comfortable

Interesting stay

I feel that the stay here was very interesting. The fact that the heat wasn't on in our building as the temperature went down at night was not good. I found the front desk staff to be very helpful. I would have like a microwave in the room, because I traveled with my baby and it would have been nice to feed her warm baby food.

Comfortable surroundings but watch the smoke

good location and comfortable surroundings. However, if you do not like smoke I would not recommend as my room (desptie nonsmoking request) was poor in terms of air quality. the entire room and some common areas of the place are completely smoke ridden. for the money I would have expected something different. could have been a great place if the smoke issue was not so overpowering.

What you would expect.

Based upon the reviews on this site, this resort is what was expected - older hotel, with need of cosmetic updating. There were four (4) weddings the day of our check-in, so we were put in a small, but clean, double bed room, not the queen room reserved through this site. There was no price difference on the rack rate between the queen and double, so the hotel offered an apology and suggested obtaining a refund from hotels.com. The onsite restaurant was good, and the onsite (about 1/2 mile from the hotel) activities were great. The area around the resort is quiet and felt secure.

Very Romantic Atmosphere

We enjoyed our stay from the first sight of the scenic location. (like a castle in the mountains) We were surprised at what we received for such an affordable rate. From the courteous staff to even the breakfast buffet, actually all the amenities were good. Only regret was we didn't bring bathing suits.

No Hot Water !

With four weddings taking place and full occupancy, they ran out of hot water...it was a VERY refreshing shower! The rooms were damp, cold and outdated. There were plenty of things to do and it is the heart of Poconos. It is OK if you do not set your expectations too high.

Looked Nice

Stayed on a Saturday -on this particular weekend 4 weddings were taking place. The staff wasseriously overworked and worn thin. All attention was given to the wedding parties and other guests were left with poor service. Waited 20 minutes for a check in the bar as the bar tender had no help. Requested pillows at 6:30pm - called at 7:30 to the front desk. They said they would sent someone right away. Went to dinner and returned at 9:30pm - still no pillows. Called the front desk and they gave me the same answer. At 10:30 we were getting tired after a long day. I went the front desk to be told they were out of pillows. This is 4 hours after my first request. Woke up in the morning with no hot water so we went to breakfast. Overcrowded with no service, the check arrived before a server asked us if we needed anything. Got the check with the tip included as per the hotels policy. Did not think a tip was necessary as we got our own coffee and ketchup and it was a buffet. A sever had rudely pointed to a table and we sat down. After breakfast no hot water. A cold shower and we left quickly.

Disappointed

Where to begin? I will not go into lengthy details rather I will point out why I would never stay at this hotel again. 1- Fitness room? Its more like 7 machines from 1975 and no treadmill!!? 2-No room service 3-Breakfast Ends at 10am on weekends! Additionally no price is posted leading one to beleieve it is complimentary. Plus the food is so bad I paid $25+ for a bowl of cereal. 4- Ice machine/vending machine is located in the basement! And all the waters were sold out! The most basic of amenities-water..was unavailable anywhere in the hotel 5- Free Coffee all day. Sounds good but have fun finding milk or cream. 6- There is no food available after 10pm. McDonals 5 miles away is your only option.

Great Place for a Wedding

This is a beautiful old hotel located in the picturesque Pocanos Mountains. During my stay there were several weddings followed by receptions in the hotel. The scenic backdrops for the outdoor ceremonies were beautiful, and the short walk inside to the reception facilities made is convienient. I wish I had been a part of the festivities, however, I was unfortunately placed in a room directly across the hall from the reception. As a regular guest, this didn't make for a peaceful evening, but the wedding guests were having a great time.

Old and charming

Beautiful, charming old hotel. It has character and history; two things I love. The hotel was very clean and cozy, with beautiful grounds. Didn't stay long enough to try any of the activities, but definitely plan on going back for a longer stay. The only criticism that I can make is that the hotel really needs a little bit of work. The bathroom in our room, for example, though very clean, could stand a redo. Needed better lighting, a bigger mirror, and more counter space. However, my friend and I felt that this was understandable, given the age of the hotel.

Quiet Resort

This was a very enjoyable trip. The hotel was nice in a nice setting. Due to the age of the hotel could use some upgrades and changes to keep up with the current date. But otherwise very nice.
