Trip Type: Business Review 16 of 29needs communication
Room was nice, location was good, but after driving 7 hours we found out the hotel was 'closed' for the off season...we were never notified. Had a check in envelope with keys and a phone number to check in to a vacant hotel with no services to speak of nor amenities you expect when paying for a room. Not a bad place...just make sure they're open

Trip Type: Romance Review 18 of 29Great Bed & Breakfast
The hotel is small and right in the heart of town close to the mountain. I was there in the summer and was quite surprised at how nice the room was. The roof had a great area to lay out and a hot tub. We had a great experience at the Lodge and will stay there again when in Aspen.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 19 of 29Good Price For Aspen
My wife and I stayed at The Independence Square Logde while in Aspen for a wedding. Everything was very nice and clean and the hot tub on the roof had great views of the entire city. If there was a negative to staying here it was parking. There is no garage and you are not allowed to park on the city streets around the hotel. We had to park 4 blocks away carry our bags from the car to the hotel, which wasn't too bad but if you aren't able to carry your bags that far it could be a problem. Overall I would give this place a 3.5 stars out of 5.

Imagine a hotel where you still use a key. Excellent room, great location, and proficient staff. Parking can be challenging as hotel has no parking of it's own.

Great location, but parking is on the street about 3+blocks. The beds were softer than we like. Very nice clean room of older converted building

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 23 of 29Great hotel.... bad parking
The hotel is very nice. Is in a building that is probably 100 yrs old however is remodeled very modern with 1st class furnishings, wide screen tv, good bed. Room is smallish, but is right on the square making it very convenient. Only drawback (due to it's location) is there is no designated unloading zone, nor parking. Was given a permit for self parking outside the business area. Fortunately was able to find a curb spot only a couple of blocks from hotel.

Trip Type: Business Review 24 of 29Great location, needs a face lift
You couldn't ask for a better location for this hotel, however the 'lodge feel' they are going for is now just coming across as old and outdated.

Trip Type: Family Review 25 of 29Affordable room, but maintenance needs improvement.
We loved the room, but half the lights did not work or would go on and off by themselves. In all fairness, we did not complain to the front desk. I am sure they would have fixed the lights if we had.

Trip Type: Business Review 28 of 29Cozy B $ B
It's a little pricey, but that's Aspen for you. Otherwise, the Indy Square is very comfortable and convenient. $15 will get you access to a terrific health club.
