Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 56Great value
Although we prefer to stay in the theatre district, this is a convenient location in a quiet neighborhood and we've always gotten a good rate. The rooms are twice or three times the size of comparable midtown hotels. The kitchenette is economical, too--we enjoy coffee and oatmeal in our room before hitting the streets.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 56Good deal for the price!! Pleasantly surprised
After having read the one review about bedbugs, I was skeptical but I couldn't afford much more. However, my 18 yr old daughter and I traveled on 8/4/09 and stayed a week here. The room was pretty much as most reviews have said, small room but for NY pretty standard. The room was clean, though curtains and part of bathroom remodeled, you could tell the items were inexpensive just to get the job done. If you're looking for fancy, you won't find it here, but the room was clean and several times during trip we asked for extra towels and received them promptly. Desk staff (at night when we checked in, not sure of young fellow's name) was very friendly, very helpful and attentive. I was very impressed. We stayed in room 231. It was not noisy at all. air conditioner was working. Free internet was important factor to us as well. We had issues getting it hooked up (I'm a novice) and had to call front desk 3 times, he was so helpful and patient, every call. No view, but hey I was in NY!! I would stay there again without question.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 4 of 56Pretty good deal
Somewhat rustic, but not bad for NYC. Room with refrig. and sink was large, bed very comfortable. Bathroom was roomy, good tub & shower. Maid service was excellent. Very good closet space. Construction project in lobby was finished during our stay, not much of a problem. Most important: It was QUIET!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 5 of 56great room for the money
I was looking for a room with a private bath, in midtown manhattan, in a decent neighborhood that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. I also know I was asking for a lot being in manhattan....The Imperial provided all that and more...What I didn't expect was a very friendly staff that gave me a lot of useful tips throughout my 1 week stay in new york.....the location was great (1 block away from a subway station)and safe. The room was clean, confortable and had everything that I needed (and I tend to be picky...).The only time that I had a bad time in this hotel was the day that they shut down the water for construction purposes....I desperately needed a shower and did not get one that day!!! But I forgave that little incident being that the hotel was going under construction for improvement purposes.... I simply would have appreciated a heads up of when and how long would the water be shut down.......

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 56Not too bad...location is great!
The hallway smelled like stale food and the TV was very small. So, if you can run through the hall, it was fine. The hotel was realitvely clean and we had a bathroom in our room which was great! Everything worked well in the bathroom. It was nice to have a small kitchenette. The subway station was only two blocks away and the bus stop was nearby too. Overall, the hotel was ok, especially if you are on a budget.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 56Worth the money
Good service and reasonable price for a hotel in manhattan with good access to the subway. The bathroom in our floor though was not available through my entire stay which made it a bit inconvenient since I had to go to a different floor to use the bathroom. Otherwise, I thought it was worth the money.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 56disappointing
the stay at imperial court was disappointing. first of all, they did not tell me that the room had a choice of having a bath tub or not until i asked them about it after check in.(i saw there was no tub in my room when i went in) and they told me that they could not change the room after check in. second, i had heard time with getting hot water when showering. and third, they were doing renovation in their lobby area and it was noisy as well as dusty. lastly, they had a nerve to give me a bill at check out even though i checked with them that every thing was paid for previously (via hotels.com) when i checked in. the only good thing was the location.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 56Horrible room for the money
The room that I booked was way smaller than what I thought. The water was either burning hot, or ice cold. We found a dirty razor behind the desk. The phone was not plugged in, and even when we did plug it in, it would not work. The wireless internet was not working, so we were lost most of the time. We had requested extra blankets twice (in person due to the phone not working) and both times we were told they would be right up, we never got them. The radiator only worked the first night while we were out and by the time we came back, was not working the rest of the trip. The toilet would leak whenever we flushed. The paint would chip off of the pipe in the bathroom whenever we, or a surrounding toilet would flush. To top the whole trip off, the hotel was under construction. I guess you get less than what you pay for. I would never let anyone stay in this hotel.

the hotel is located one block from Brodway. New York is Expensive so it was good for the money.
