Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 46Pleasantly surprised
This hotel exceeded my expectations by a mile, the staff was beyond helpful. Free beach towels, free parking, free beach mats... Good advice about attractions. Ok location, close to everything and walking distance to the beach. You cant beat it for the price! would stay here again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 46Very Nice!
It's the biggest room I've ever stayed in Hawaii. The full kitchen is very convenient..it saved me lots of money from ordering or eating out (Waikiki is VERY expensive). Location is excellent! away from the city noise but yet close to everything..nice friendly workers, very responsive to every needs!

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 46Very comfortable, spacious, with good service
I stayed in the hotel 5 nights with my girlfriend, and everything was fantastic. The only complaint I had was it's location in the middle of Waikiki, where prices for food are inflated and it's very crowded outside and on the nearby beaches. I would suggest driving to the other beaches on the island. We had no problems parking with Ilima's free first come, first serve system, so it's very possible to rent a car and still stay in Waikiki.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 7 of 46one of the best
Cleanest hotel we have seen in Honolulu. The location cannot be beat. One can walk almost anywhere. The bath tiles were brand new in appearance & there was NO dust to be found in the room. The entire staff from front desk to the cleaning staff went out of their way for us. While there is no rest. in the hotel, the proximity of food from five star to fastfood was all within walking range. Strogly suggest this hotel to any visitor to Wawaii.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 46Huge rooms - quiet - great value!
The condo-size rooms were huge and had excellent full kitchens with pots and pans and dishes - everything you need! It was quite convenient to everything. I enjoyed every minute! We had free parking and free internet. The laundry was only $1 - cheaper than at home! There was a great bakery nearby, too.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 46It's OK...
I would recommend this hotel to a group of college students or family who is not going to use it much for except to sleep. The rooms are big and come with a mini-kitchen and big fridge, which is great if you want to save money. Note that the standard comes with two double beds with extra-firm mattresses. I could not sleep on this bed..when I complained, the staff had housekeeping put a mattress pad on the bed. This helped...besides this, the hotel is very clean but older and the decor is tacky and worn. The bathrooms looked newly renovated which was nice, but there was mold on the ceiling. I thought the staff was really great and friendly. They allowed me to check out a tad late and were really obliging and helpful when I asked for information about the surrounding area... The hotel is in the center of Waikiki which is nice if that is what you are into...touristy stuff. Overall my stay was OK ... I'm going back to the Aqua Palms next time. I love that hotel.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 46Awesome Value, Amazing Aloha Spirit
The staff at the Ilima Hotel was above and beyond. I arrived after an extremely long travel day alone with my infant son. The two women at the counter were amazingly helpful (one of them even held my fussy little one while I signed check in papers). The hotel was conveniently located, just a couple of blocks from the beach (if that is your thing) and close to the International Marketplace and tons of other shopping and restaurants. When my son shut and locked the in room safe on accident they allowed us to leave the safe locked and did not charge us for the safe (in fact the staff didn't make a big deal of the fact that he had locked the safe at all). The Ilima is an older hotel, it is strange colors (the hotel is totally pink and the kitchens have old cabinets and stoves), but the place was very clean, the rooms were large and I cannot say enough good things about the staff at the Ilima! I don't know if I will ever be able to return to Oahu, but if I do I will definately return to the Ilima and I will recommend it to anyone I know who makes the trek to HI.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 46A place when you just need a room to sleep in
Loved that the parking was free, however we could only park on the ground level due to the fact that our truck wouldnt have cleared the height clearance for the structure. Friendly staff and very helfpful The room was ok... It is a great place to stay if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 46Great room for the money
Very convenient to entertainment and restaurants in Waikiki. Everythings within walking distance. Great value for family on vacation. Will use for future vacation of family or relatives.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 46Met my needs at the time
I needed a place with a full kitchen facility, as a place to stay after I moved out of my apartment. To this end, this hotel was a great deal for what I got. Not in the most ideal conditions, and the pink everywhere was a bit overwhelming, but the staff was really friendly, the housekeeping was thorough and quick to respond, and the location was great. Easy access to Waikiki without the price and traffic of the on the beach locations

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 46Great Find, Good Value, Very Laid Back, Good Neighborhood
This was a great bargain, close to transit and the Ala Wai canal which was a pleasant surprise. The service was great, and very friendly, the only negative we had was finding two very large dead cockroaches in our room (I understand these are common in Hawaii and it did not detract much from our stay). The part we enjoyed most was a heated small pool that our daughter loved! Overall would definitely recommend to anyone looking for good value.

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend who had stayed here a few years ago. It is an older hotel, but well maintained and only a few blocks away from great shopping and dining options. Staff was really friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again on a return visit in the future.
