Great Room for the money

Our stay was very enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and we were pleased that our rooms were ready prior to the 4:00 checkin. However there were 4 couples and only 3 of the 4 rooms were ready. The 4th couple's room wasn't ready until after 6:00 that night. The King Superior Intercoastal room had a great view of the intercoastal and was very clean. Plently of space and the fridge, coffee maker, and toaster were nice things to have in the room. The conntinetal breakfast was great. Seriously, eggs, bacon and sausage are not typical items on a conntinental breakfast so this was a nice extra. There was plenty of food each morning and the hotel was at capacity. The pool is dissappointing as it get little to no sun. Overall, great stay and I would stay there again.

"Better then I expected"

All in all my stay was very pleasant, the staff was outstanding from the valets to the bar tenders. The Room was clean and airy when the balcony door was opened. The pool on the other hand didn't make the cut, it was on the north side of the building little to no sun through the day and too narrow not what I expected from this type of hotel. Stay away from the breakfast eggs, I don't know what they tasted like but it wasn't eggs.

Fantastic Hotel. Looks New!

This hotel is by far the nicest (even over the Hilton) in FtLauderdale. Continental breakfast was included! Entire staff is excellent. The hotel looks new . . very Soho. Only downside is no ice in the full size refrigerator in the room . . and no ice machine that I could find. Also - they dont use fitted sheets on the bed, so the sheet wouldn't stay in place.

Great Hotel, but bad breakfast experience

We loved everything about Il Lugano except when it came time for breakfast. When we checked in they said we had a free continental breakfast coming to us. Great right? When we got to breakfast, around 9:15a.m., there was nothing left! Two people were cooking, they ran out of bagels, no more juice, etc. Let's just say we left and went to breakfast elsewhere. We were told that they were busier than usual that morning, but that's no excuse. Be prepared!

Very Nice Suites

My suite was very large with a beautiful balcony, great water views, very clean, 2 HD Flat screen TV's with Direct TV, iPod docks in living and bedroom, comfortable furniture/bed/linens. Very happy with my stay, will return in the future.

Outstanding Hotel

Very nice accommodations. I was suprised how nice for the money I spent. I would definitely recommend to anyone going there and I will stay there again. The room was beautiful and modern and clean. The hotel staff was very accommodating.

Great Rate---Great Place

I am seasoned traveler and I will say that the rooms at the Il Lugano were fantastic. 3 times larger than a standard hotel room. I was in town for an entire week on business and it made the time away from home easier. Great beds, beautiful view over the intercoastal. Great patio too, plenty of room to dry my dive gear. The mandatory valet parking was a little cheesy, i use it but I think it should be an option anywhere you stay. I will definately stay here again.

Hidden Gem located in Fort Lauderdale

....this is a great hotel, it is relatively new < 2 years old. Has all of the amenities you could want and more. It is in a neighborhood north of trendy Fort Lauderdale Beach, but you can easily get around on foot or by water taxi. The beach is 2 blocks away. The neighboor hood has many small restaurants and shops and lots of places to explore. Free parking in the lot across the street from 6PM-8AM, otherwise you will need to feed the meters or valet ($15 a night). They have a nice pool, but sun is limited to early in the day and late afternoon. The only thing I did not like was the $80 hold per night on the credit card when everything was already prepaid. It is a great hotel for the money, I will return!

Outstanding Hotel

I was very pleased with this hotel and will stay again.

Great Location

We stayed at the II Lugano Sute Hotel for two nights. The hotel was great the room was very clean and comfortable. Parking was not a problem we used the meters and were able to park after 6:00 pm. The beach was about 16 blocks away so you had to drive but parking was not a problem. Buffet breakfast was great. We are planning on returning again in June. I would buy a beach umbrella and beach chairs the next time, since it cost $50 per day to rent two chairs and umbrella at Las Olas.
