Iberville Suites

Location. The Iberville Suites in New Orleans, La., stands within one block of Bourbon Street and is located two blocks from the St. Charles Avenue Streetcar line. For antiquing ventures, the hotel is positioned two blocks from Royal Street, renowned for its many art and antique shops that offer contemporary and historical arts and artifacts.

Hotel Features. With its colonnaded, second-story lobby decorated with antiques and fine art, the nine-story Iberville Suites shares the historic, 1909 Beaux Arts Maison Blanche Building with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Iberville Suites guests may access Ritz-Carlton amenities including the luxury day spa, indoor pool, steam room, and fitness center. Fine dining is available at Melange, which serves classic Creole dishes and features live jazz nightly. Turn-of-the-century antiques are set against accents in pale green and gold at the On Trois lounge that offers afternoon tea on Saturdays. Gentle sounds of jazz float through The Library which features a fireplace. Complimentary buffet-style continental breakfasts are served in the grand lobby of the hotel.

Guestrooms. This property's 230 two-room suites feature separate bedrooms and sitting areas, antique-style furnishings and sofa beds. Beds feature pillowtop mattresses and 300-thread count sheets. Refrigerators are provided. Rooms include CD players, and high-speed wired and wireless Internet access for a fee. Marble bathrooms boast travertine sinks, rainforest showerheads and Bath & Body Works toiletries.

Expert Tip. Although all other areas of the Iberville Suites are smoke-free, The Library, part of the Ritz-Carlton property, houses a private smoking club which is the second of only two such venues within the company. Also, each month, Iberville Suites guests are invited to join Ritz-Carlton guests for tastings and seminars hosted by the Spirits Sommelier, the Whiskey Ambassador or the Cognac Concierge. Charter memberships and day passes are available for a fee.
