Hyatt Sunset Harbor Resort

LOVED IT!!

The room was gorgeous and very spacious with a FULL KITCHEN, LIVING ROOM, DINING ROOM and a bed room with a balcony... they even had an ipod docking station... the pool was really nice and very cool considering it was HOT out. The location was GREAT! right on the marina and a few blocks from the party scene and shops on Duval. I wanted to stay there longer!!

Terrific Location...But

Terrific Key West location for walking about. No breakfast available of any kind! Had to walk 1/4 mile to get some. Cozy tropical pool and deck. No bar, no restaurant. This "hotel" appears to be a time-share that has wonderful potential as a hidden gem, but has some serious work to do. Mr and Mrs Kentucky

Outstanding Hotel

Perfect Location

The Hyatt Sunset is in a great location! It was right on the water, right next to everything...Malory Square, Duval St., the pier, shops...everything! And they can have scooters and bikes delivered to the hotel for you to rent! The suite was so nice and had a huge jet tub! The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I will stay there again next time I go to the Keys!

Poor customer service

We made our reservation in November for a March stay. The hotel mistakenly put our reservation in for April rather than March. We were only there one night so wanted to be down by Duval street but they could not accomodate us since they were full and were not willing to pay for our stay at an alternative downtown hotel. They admitted it was there error and put us up in a very nice resort of theirs on the other side of the island. Since we wanted to be close to Duval and were only there one night we did not care that much if the room was better than our reservation and we had to shell out about $35.00 in cab fair to get downtown and back. I think they could have done better.

for the rate it was only mediorce. booked a smoking room and was not told the whole hotel was non-smoking

Nice location, no service though

The property is very nice and a great location! Keep in mind that this is a Hyatt vacation resort which it kind of like a timeshare and that means that you don't get your room cleaned every day, and there is no restaurant or bar on location. My room was OK, small and extremely dark! The walls are very thin and I was right next to the staircase which made it very noisy. I wasn't totally dissatisfied, but the darkness and the lack of any kind of service bothered me.

Great hotel and location

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It is in a perfect location - walking distance to the marinas, Mallory Square and Duvall St. The pool is very clean and relaxing. The driving directions on the hotel website are perfectly accurate. We stayed 2 nights here and were a little surprised that no one from housekeeping ever came to clean our room. I inquired at the desk during check out and they apologized profusly, explaining the situation. Most rooms are rented weekly or monthly and housekeeping comes once weekly. However, they should've cleaned our room since we booked as a hotel. This minor incident was not a big problem for us and we can't wait to come back.

Great night but too short

This was a great place for a romantic getaway and I would not want the mood interrupted by children. The only regret was the check out time was like 10 a.m. and by the time we got up and ate, we had to pack and check out and didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool or hot tub the next morning.
