Trip Type: Family Review 17 of 54Where's the beach?
The hotel was beautiful and the Hyatt breakfast was outstanding, as always. We stayed 7 nights so we had a chance to really explore the site. That being said, I did have one disappointment: the beach. I admit that I was warned that the beach in front of the hotel was not that great. What that means is that the first two times we visited the beach, there was about 10 feet of sand between the vegetation and the surf. So one person could lay down and someone walking along the beach would have to carefully walk around. For people without kids, this was probably fine. By walking along a paved walkway between hotels, for just 15 minutes, you could arrive at a much larger beach. If you walked ten minutes more, you were at an outstanding beach where people were snorkeling. We had a kid in a stroller, though, so the 15 minute walk was a chore. The Hyatt tried to make up for this with the most amazing kids pool and slide area that I have ever seen, but my child was a little to young to really appreciate it. Knowing what I now know, I would have paid more to stay closer to a usable beach.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 18 of 54Fantastic Time!
Do not come to this hotel without eating at the Swan Court or their sushi restaurant. The hammocks down by the ocean are a must and it is hard not to enjoy the water slide no matter what your age is. This is a spectacular resort and it is only second to the staff attending it!

Great pool! That was the reason I picked this hotel. Friendly staff. Definitely a place for couples.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 21 of 54Loved the layout of the Hyatt and the beautiful gardens and pool on site.
My wife and I stayed here as our introduction to Hawai'i on our honeymoon. We loved how helpful and friendly the staff we’re and the beautiful lobby with the amazing wildlife. The most incredible pool I’ve ever seen can be found winding through a man made cave with its own poolside bar. My wife and I found ourselves returning to our childhoods as we rocketed down the onsite waterslide. The only quall we had was the smokers next door using their Lanai as an ash tray. The smoke blew into our oceanfront room turning it into the corner bar down the street. Hotel security asked them to stop on several occasions citing the hotel’s policy of no smoking within 20 feet of the building, but to no avail. Although I was frustrated with security simply repeating themselves to deaf ears, my wife and I decided to return to the Hyatt on the anniversary trip we were already planning.

Trip Type: Family Review 22 of 54Great Experience
My whole family stayed at the Hyatt for my parent's anniversary. We all had a fantastic time. The hotel is well maintained and appeals to people of all ages. My niece and nephew loved the exotic birds and the poosl and water slides. The staff was very accommodating with our rooms and with any special requests. One of the restaurant workers even went to the kitchen to get me a little jar of jelly so that I could make a sandwich. They definitely go above and beyond to make their guests feel at home. We all can't wait to go again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 23 of 54Great Honeymoon
We stayed here in September for a week for our honeymoon and it was perfect. The hotel offered the most beautiful grounds and pool compared to the other hotels on Kaanapali. The room was nice and had a wonderful view of the ocean. The breakfast buffet was delicious and in a gorgeous waterfall setting in their swan court restaurant. My wife and I spent the first day at the spa and enjoyed sitting in robes looking out over the beach from the spa's relaxation room. The only negative was that our room was supposed to be a non-smoking room but at times smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. When we called the front desk they said it might be coming through the ventilation from another floor. They offered to change us rooms but we liked the view so we chose to stay. Pros- -Very comfortable bed -Great View -Beautiful Gardens -Best Pool -Breakfast Buffet -Location -Spa Cons- -Cigarette Smoke in non-smoking room -I was hoping for a bigger bathtub/shower for the price of the room -Expensive internet access

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 25 of 54No real beach access
Even if there is a easily accessiblebeach in front of the hotel, there are little chances to hang out at the the beach unless you want to lay down on the sand with just your towel. Some days the hotel does not provide at all long chairs for the beach. On other days provide put special cabanas that can be used only if rented for $40 a day. This little details were never specified anywhere in the web site. Pools on the other hand are very crowded with one chair right next to the other.

Great pool, view, location...1 area by pool under construction and could be difficult to get chairs by the pool. Over-all, it was great. I stay there again!

Trip Type: Romance Review 27 of 54Horrible hotel for the money
wow! Were we surprised when we checked in, the pictures of this hotel do it way more justice than it deserves. The pool was great, and the breakfast was great, everything else was NOT great. We received bug bites while sleeping in our bed, the bathroom locks are breaking off, and beware of all of the hidden fees (resort fee, parking fee, etc.) just not what you expect for one of the most expensive hotels on Maui. We did stay at a different hotel before checking into the Hyatt that was very nice, just saying that you can get more for your money. Very disappointed!

Trip Type: Romance Review 29 of 54Nice but could have been better
Our cleainging services for the room could have been better. We had to complain twice about new pillow cases and to have the floor swept. There was some construction around the pool, but not that much of an annoyance. Otherwise we were happy with the hotel
