Although the staff were very courteous and the room was clean, we found the rooms to be rather plain and outdated considering the price.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 43Very beautiful room
amenities seems to be the only thing they were lacking in the room here - lotion, etc missing. the room was beautiful with a nice sectional - flat screen tv - desk, comfortable bed and more. The staff was very friendly and down to earth. I wish there were more of these around the country as i travel for business. free wireless is a must for me as i travel!

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 43Brand New Hotel with a Great Downtown Location
We chose the Hyatt Place for our family "staycation" because their summer rate special was such a great deal. We had no idea what to expect and were very happy to discover a brand new, modern hotel with a perfect location. The hotel is located right next to the Gateway shopping district with plenty of stores, entertainment, and restaraunts within walking distance. There was also a lightrail station just a block or two from the hotel, and the entire downtown area of the city is a free fare zone. Getting around was no problem. We also really enjoyed the local farmer's market at a nearby park on Saturday morning. The hotel itself had nice ammenities. The breakfast was slightly above average with coffee, juice, milk, fruit, yogurt, breads, and cereals. There was also hot breakfasts (and other meals) available for an extra fee. The pool was small but clean and had a hot tub. The workout room was small but stocked with new equipment in excellent condition. The lobby was very hip and modern while still being comfortable. Free wi-fi and computer stations were located throughout the hotel. The service was amazing. The kitchen staff even offered to wash my baby's bottles for me. The rooms felt big and spacious with a separate sitting area from the beds and an amazing entertainment center with large HDTV and every possible input you could need (bring the dvd player or game system and have a family movie night!). My only complaints are: the air conditioning unit was very loud--at first I thought it was traffic noise. The beds were overly firm and hurt my back after sleeping on them for a few hours. Fortunately, there were a lot of extra pillows, so I was able to make it work. Also, the neighborhood, despite the presence of many new hot spots, is still just a little slummy in some areas. Expect to be panhandled a few times and don't go wandering away from the main attractions by yourself at night. Overall, this was an amazing value. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone l

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 43Superb!
I was pleasantly surprised at the level of excellence displayed at our recent stay at this hotel. Much like the rest of the hotel, the rooms were immaculate and stylishly decorated. The size of the rooms were quite large. I liked the separate sleeping and living areas. I liked the 24 service of the cafe. We will be staying here many times in the future

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 43salt lake hyatt place niceplace food service poor!
We stayed at salt lake hyatt sept.10 thru 14th . very comfortable. The food service mostley breakfast was sub-par at best for a hyatt. Powdered eggs and microwave bacon for 7.00$ is just stupid. Go any where for food.
